Since Christmas time I've been having this extremely frustrating problem with CS5. When trying to stitch a panorama it is skewing the image to the left, a lot. I have never had this issue at all, ever. The past few times I've tried it's given me this result.

Also, I have reset all of the preferences as has been suggested on the Adobe support site and forum. Any FChat suggestions?

This one isn't as bad as normally but it has been a huge PITA.

It's free right? I just tried the demo version of AutoPano Pro. It's great, but you can't save the files in the demo. So.... torrent ;)

But I'll try Hugin too. I saw that one recommended as well.

I hate these automatic programmes :D

I stitch them together manually in PS CS5.

Here is one stitched together of 3 or 4 different pics laying down and standing up as well as different zoom.

That happens to me occasionally, and is usually symptomatic of the source images not being lined up well (subject position within frame) or one or more frames rotated relative to the rest.

I always shoot panos the same. Only recently did it start doing that. I downloaded the free Hugin like Ash said and it worked like a charm

I do too (to the best of my ability). It's sensitive to minor mistakes.

I gotta check out Hugin; have a few that have never worked well in PS.

So I just checked out Hugin yesterday for a panorama I just did. It's an incredible program!!! Photoshop couldn't get it remotely right, but Hugin did it flawlessly. And the best part....it's free!!

It is because of the spherical aberration of the straight lines and photoshop's attempt to resolve them into perspective. See how many more vertical lines there are in the pic to the left? PS is trying to spread them out as they go up, to give you even perspective. This results in the left bias. You can try one of the other modes for panoramas, or you can do it manually, or use one of the other programs mentioned here.

If you want to fix this pic in photoshop, select the last pic and then shrink/skew the left side until the Viper's proportions make sense. Then simply crop the whole composition into a nice rectangle. Your shipping containers may end up looking like they are not rectangular...if that bothers you, select each item and straighten it out, leaving the cars and bikes alone. Or you could blur the lines and that would have the added benefit of making the background look less busy.

try cylindrical/spherical, and reposition. Also try blending manually.

I'll have to try this alternative software. I don't do a huge amount of pano's anymore since I have much wider lens options.

+1, those panoramas I have been doing are stitched by Hugin, lately it has been giving me problems and it just crashes and sometimes it says it's a bad fit but after I process (whatever the real technical term is) it, it turns out perfectly.

I tried hugin... It detected all the control points I was going for, and then it didn't know what to do. Sigh

Were you still in the Fast Preview mode still, then you go back to the original link and you hit Create Panorama. Then you save it to what you want and it's done.

Ugh. Since when did Photoshop start automating panoramas? I swear this program becomes more bloated as time goes on...
