I've ranted on eBayers before, but I'm getting aggravated again.

I went to buy a Harley tail light and fender. I see one and so I do a buy-it-now on a new-in-box fender from a seller cross country. I dont have enough in my PayPal to pay for the fender (dont have it hooked into my bank), so at checkout I say I'll send a check. This is on Friday evening it ended, so I mail the check Monday evening (picked up Tuesdays mail).

So 7 days later I get an item not paid dispute. Guy had never called or emailed or asked where the $$ is, nothing. So I immediately use my CC on PayPal, which I hate to do, and send the money that instant. Then I say I am cancelling the check I sent - it hadnt been cashed).

Its 3 weeks later and I have emailed this guy 3 times through ebay to ask for a tracking number and nothing. Guy has 730 positive feedback and 11 negative.

I don't think the guy is jerking me around because he's got a lot of +'s and I used PayPal so I can probably get the dough back, but he's obviously sat on his lazy a$$ now for at LEAST 2 weeks, thats if he shipped it by ground instead of priority mail he said he'd send it. Do people just not care? I mean, if someone paid for something you just do it. If you forgot (things happen I understand), then when you are gently reminded you make sure you get it right that time. If you forget twice, at least have the courtesy to write back and say "ohhhhhh man sorry! I forgot, its going out today" and I'd be happy. But this no reply for 5 days BS is lame. Especially when he was one of those hardass auction seller guys who talk about how they'll leave a negative the last day payment should arrive if it's not there or dont email them with question or any bidders with negatives to contact them, etc.

This happens more and more now. Last 5 or so things I got, I had to keep prodding the seller to send the frickin stuff out. How hard is it? You go to USPS.com and print a postage-paid tag on your printer and stick it on the frickin box and leave it for the mailman. Its not rocket science and you dont even need to leave your home!

I've said it twice and I'll say it again, the majority of people on ebay that I've run across don't have any room trading let alone waking up in the morning.

I usually send payment shortly after the close of the auction using PP and CC. Never a problem getting stuff. I'd suggest you get your PP account "wired" so that you're not futzing around and see how that works.

I will never tie my PP account into my bank - PP is a dangerous thing - an unregulated bank. I only use PP to accept money and occasionally to send if I want to buy something I "must have". I send MO's often or checks and rarely have a problem.

Regardless of all that, not having shipped an item 3 weeks after being paid is out of line, even if he didn't get the check as he says. Not replying to 3 emails for info ain't very cool either.

Never tie it to your bank account.
I had my paypal account hacked for a whopping 400 bucks, I said to myself "paypal will give it back."
but they managed to hack my checking account from paypal and turned it into a big doughnut! ZERO dollars!
Took 3 months to get my money back. What a PITA that was.
    wont do that again :)
