Saturday on Father's Day weekend (weekend after this one) is a WW1 fly-in at Gardner Ks. Our little plane will not be finished and inspected, but we'll bring what we have to show if anyone's interested.

This is an extremely laid back airshow with as much interaction as you would like. These WW1 folks are a very friendly and funny group.

    See you there!

Boy, Russ, you're taking a chance taking your project there. I mean, who in the world would be interested in a Sopwith Camel? It doesn't even fly yet so i doubt that anyone will look at it. It's just a WW1 biplane that Snoopy made famous. Lemme know if anyone looks at it for more than an hour or two.

It's strange seeing the town I live in mentioned on this forum. lol

Which airport is this at? The municipal airport of Gardner or at New Century? I'll have to make a trip there and check everything out!

I think it is at Gardner Municipal.
    Will try to verify.

    Should be a fun time.

I envy you and wish that I could participate. Your bird will gardner(sic) a lot of interest. Are you going to trailer it there and assemble it? Take lots of pictures, everybody is anxious to see it put together.

We are still waiting on the FAA inspection, so we will prob trailer it.

As far as a reception, I received the following email from Butch Whitlock, a regular, who flies a DVII:
    This should be a hoot.

Russ, this is the essence of the flock. The most wonderful times that I have ever had were with the same type with whom you are about associate. I'm certain that you will receive " Royal" treatment when they see your Camel. Live it up !
