I think the XOST sounds very dissapointing on that TR in the clip. Nothing compared to a FUCHS on a 512TR (attached below)

Agreed that one does sound a lot better

 

I have a fuchs on my car still have the cats on at the moment and its loads louder than that clip as the car on the clip is not being driven hard enough

 

How do you get on with mot's, I just got a sports silencer and it is louder than my friends 355, I don't know whether to keep the original backbox just for mot's and swap them over

 

there is no noise limit on a mot test

 

Thanks for that, I always thought there was, my brother had to change his bike exhaust for mot's, I just presumed that cars were the same decibel wise

 

bike exhausts are usually stamped !!!!not for road use!!!!!!

Log onto www.fuchs-esd.de to locate their telephone number and give them a ring to get a price quote for a 512TR exhaust. Finally a 512TR Fuchs sounds nothing like a 512TR Tubi thank god. The Fuchs has a lovely sweet and tuneful sound whereas the Tubi on the same car gives out an awful loud racket a bit like a tractor.

 

The only other decent sounding exhaust for a 512TR is MS-RACING. Log onto http://www.ferrarirosso.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=597 to view 2 short clips of this exhaust. At the moment there are only 2 awesome sounding 512TR exhausts on the market (FUCHS and MS-RACING), everything else sounds crap on this car.

The Kreissieg sounds as good as/similar to the MS-RACING during hard acceleration but the Kreissieg is no where near as loud as the MS when you rev the engine at a standstill. Plus I hear the MS is a lot cheaper to buy.

I agree that there are some awesome sound clips on that link you mentioned, but the 512TR/M clips sound like a loud uncontrolled racket, so much so that you feel the urge to turn the volume control on your computer down. The sound that the Tubi makes on this car has no tune to it whatsoever. Infact it sounds a bit like the crappy loud untuned noise a boy racers' car (etc Escort RS Turbo, Vauxhall Nova) gives out when fitted with those cheap and tacky Big Bore or similar exhausts. No where near as impressive as a 355 or 348 fitted with Tubi, NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS.
