I am about to start my winter project, by fitting X-pipes, K&N air filter and maybe wheel spacers (15 & 25 mm) on my 550 -2000.
Does anyone know where I can find these parts at reasonable price here in northern Europe ?
    Regards Anders

Spacers are made by Hill Engineering in UK - K&N seem readily available here too - don't know about pipes but if you mean x-ost try Scuderia Sales in UK

    Many thanks for the info.
I don´t want to sound greedy, but before spending the money I would like to understand what I am buying:
How come that just some "pipes" can cost so much ?
As I understand, the pipes are "clean" inside, i.e. no sound deadning material, right ?
OK, they are of stainless steel, but besides that....?
    And, yes, it is handmade....
But what else is there to it ? Can anyone explain for my better understanding ?

The HyperFlow pipe is unique because it is a 3 part construction, designed specifically for flexibility and adjustments during installation. Moreover, the location of the cross-over point is not accidental -- HyperFlow probably worked through 30 different versions/configurations until they achieved the sound level (and more importantly, the throttle response and feel) they wanted. Finally, it is indeed a hand made item (one-by-one), and highly polished.

There are indeed other choices available in the market. After evaluation many different brands, we feel the HyperFlow version offers the best product for our customers. (And yes, some of our other primary suppliers make an X-pipe. We had plenty to chose from, but selected the HF.)

...as good, or better than K&Ns.

    Noticeable difference in performance.

    Good luck!

Why are you fitting X pipes - for better performance or more noise?

I fitted Tubi back boxes this summer to my 2003 575, sound is excellent especially in SPORT mode when the car blips its own throttle as it shifts down. But I must admit that I have lost some rolling speed driveability compared to the original boxes which has restriced outlet until the valves / gates opened, you have to learn to use a real light throttle if you don't want it to kangaroo - like when you are stuck in traffic on the M6 and you are rolling along the throttle is so precise that it is very hard not to have it bunny hopping down the carriage way. But I can put up with that for the pleasure of listening those gases exiting the back end.

    Enjoy!
