    The console will come with a 20GB detachable and upgradeable hard drive and a 12x dual-layer DVD drive that reads DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-R/RW, WMA and MP3, among other formats. It will also stream media from other Windows XP-based PCs, Microsoft said. The Xbox 360 will display games in high definition when used with HDTVs, but it will scale down to the best resolution of the television set

    It's been floating around for a couple of months now, funny story is that Bill Gates himself spoke of it at a editors and writers convention when it was still supposed to be kept a secret about the shipping date. I guess Bill never got the memo. For anyone thats going to the E3 show this week. I'm sure that is where Microsoft will have its unvailing.

    i think im gonna wait on it till its a year old cause then playstation 3 will be coming out and i will be able to play both and see which one i like better. this is good for sony though, they relize what this thing is gonna have and they WILL go a step beyond it.

    sony and nintendo are going to unveil their units at E3 as well this week.....love to see the specs of the PS3 and the nintendo revolution........

    It's nice, but very honestly ... I'm stuck with Sony because all I care about is Gran Turismo. And Gran Theft Auto too. :)
    Now if Gran Turismo 5 (which will be out by about 2035) is available on Xbox ... I may consider it :)

    It looks cool to me...I've always see the xbox as a computer type console rather than a true gaming console like Playstation. Microsoft made a good introduction to the console wars, I don't know if it will it really keep up with Playstation and Nintendo, since both have dominated the industry.

    I came home the other day and my wife said she heard about it on TV and said I should get it for Xmas... I just about died! If you knew the drama the Xbox has caused in our household (think Gods Must Be Crazy), it just was out of character for her.

    You can bet that I am going to hold her to that suggestion though!

    maybe she plays it when you are not at home............don't try to play HALO with her in front of your friends, she might whip your a$$....... ;)
