    My son has a PS2 with a lot of games. He now wants an XBox. Is the Xbox a lot better machine? Are there different games for the Xbox than are available for the PS2? Do you guys have both machines?

    I have both. The xbox is worth it for halo 2 and project gotham 2 alone...

    agreed. xbox graphics are leaps and bounds better than ps2. I think i heard it had 4 times the graphics ability of any other console. PGR2 kicks ass, but the only drawback is you have to wait on GTA:San Andreas for awhile.

    Actually, I bet the PS2 is a "naughtier" system.

    Gotham racing, Halo/Halo2, NHL and NFL - what more do you want? Plus, Xbox has "Live!" service, which even PS3 won't.

    having owned both i would vote xbox, not only is this a better machine it seems to be more dependable, PS2's seem to have a problem breaking

    More like 06.

    And it depends on what you want. X has more good racers. PS2 has more and better single player exp games, esp in the RPG category.

    who cares about the system and what it can/can't do... all systems have an equal proportion of games which are utter garbage, i don't give a flying rat's tossbag how pretty it looks.

    nowadays the system itself is only werth like 2-3 times the amount you pay for a game, so just get both and pick your games wisely.

    I got the PSx for one reason. Gran Turismo. I have since stuck to it, and am anxiously expecting GT4, and can't wait to get my hands on Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. These are the 2 only games I play! lol

    me too, though haven't played GTA:SA for a couple weeks now. burnout 2/3 are a good larf, and driver3 is werth the price of admission. other than that, i've got a pommy mate who comes round every month or so, and we have at it on the soccer pitch, otherwise games don't interest me much nowadays.

    Playstation, easier controls for your son to hold in his small hands. Each system has its pros and cons. Playstation has a wider assortment of games while x box may have some better games. To me, Playstation has more of the better games like GTA and GT4(when it finally comes out).
