I have two new Xenon headlights. The drive's side only stays on for about ten seconds, then cuts out. If I turn off, and then back on, headlight comes on, again for about 10 seconds, then cuts out. The other headlight stays on fine. It is only the driver's side that is the issue.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Place that installed them said to bring the car back. Not a big deal, but thought if something simply I could just do at home here.

    Thanks!

I had the same thing happen on my Audi TT. It's probably the ignitor unit. Take it back. They are sealed units. You can't repair it, just replace it.

What all did you need/have installed to convert the halogens to Xenons? My headlights are horrible... Is this a simple DIY?

You just need a kit mate. VERY DIY, normally takes 20-30 mins to fit to normal cars. Will take longer in the Ferrari because of the need to remove the front of the light to change the bulb and finding some real estate to mount the ballasts. :)

You can buy HID kits in ANY bulb application, ranging from a H1 to a H13 and anything else in between. They also range in colour temp, rated in kelvins/K.

3000K Gold Yellow, 4300K Crystal white, 6000K Diamond White, 8000K Diamond Blue, 10000K Aqua Blue and 12000K Brilliant Blue. You can even get pink, green, purple etc.etc. I use 6000K in my cars.

**I havent fit a kit to the Ferrari yet though**

HID/Xennon kits are all "plug and play". You just need to mount the ballasts (igniters, whatever you want to call them) somewhere nice and cool as they DO get rather hot. :)

Here are pics of the kits I use. They can come in any bulb you want mate. :)

I have a kit that uses the same components that are in the photo above, the kit i have is in my 91 BMW, i also have a 2001 BMW with factory HID.. The 91 has bulbs that are 60000k and 55W, you can choose between 35W and 55W if i remember correctly.. My 91 puts out MUCH more light than the 01.. These are actually pretty good kits, and not that expensive either, i think i paid about 120$ for the kit for my 91 BMW, for H3 bulbs i think?

To install you will need to either cut your power wires to the headlights, or splice the aftermarket ballast's into the factory power wires. When i did the install in my 91, i cut the supply wires and soldered the ballasts in. However, i do not ever intend on taking my car back to stock head lights. If you want to keep the ability to return the car to box stock, you will need to splice the wires into the factory harness, or keep your factory connectors to wire in at a later date if you so choose.

    Good luck!
