Well, with the FFQC not going to happen this year and maybe not till next November, I'd like to know if anyone would like to do something on Saturday December 10TH.

We could do our own car show, a cruise in or just do a drive. You know me I can arrange just about anything. I could check for a local venue to park cars for a car show or cruise in. Possiblile get local advertising and sponsors. Get some donations to give to what ever charity we could.

We did the toy run last year, I'm going to go by the Charity we did the toy run for up town and see if they are still there or if they have been flooded to.

It just seems like to we could do something.

    All suggestion are welcome,

    Kelly

    Sounds good to me.

Anyone have any interest in a track day - maybe in November?

Let's see, car show in the French Quarter or someplace close that will get media attention, rasie some money, or have a bunch of guys have a track day. HUM???

Car show not track day. If yawl want a track day we can do that later.

    My 2 cents,

    Kelly

I like the idea of a toy run and car show. Park and eat in the FQ if they would let us. Muriels was great that year. Just do not want to get stuck behind a convoy of debris haulers!!!

Here's where we stand as of today. Hopefully a formal annoucemant will be made by next week.

We have a car show or cruise inn, what ever you want to call it on Royal Street in the French Quarter from noon till 3 on December 10th. ALL cars of any type, year or brand are invited.

We are working on getting the city behind this idea. We should know somenthing by next week. I will keep you updated.

    Kelly

PS, As far as what the club does after, like a drive or a dinner is wide open for suggestion.

Just curious, but how much does NPR charge to rent out the road course for a day? Say, 9am-3pm

Hey, Bro. Sorry I missed ya last weekend. It was a weekend from hell. Traffic out of NO was HELLISH and my bike was held up in customs, so it wasn't in :(.
I'll give ya a yell next week.

    Now, back to the discussion.......

No prob! When I spoke with you it sounded like you had a lot on your plate. I hope those customs agents weren't too keen on giving that Monster some 'testing.' :)

Winston will rent the track to qualified drivers for $150 per hour. That isn't a major investment--particularly if you get a few people together to pitch in. That is what I have been doing since I stopped hanging out on hwy 40.

For those of you who have not taken a high-performance driving course, Winston has a three hour, abriviated course that is very good (I hesitate to call it a "crash" course.) It is all one-on-one, and costs $350, if memory serves. It is very cheap considering you have the track to yourself for that long.

Five or six guys at the track don't need all day to run. Three hours is plenty because you can drive all you want.

I'll let you know the next time I go out, if you don't mind sharing the track with Evolutions, STis, NSXs, M-3s, Civics, etc.

No sweat. One of the guys with a 300zx has been promising to run his G35. Perhaps your presence will encourage him, too.
