I was reading and came accross a tiny bit of info on the first F1 prototype.

#XP1 199n Unpainted. McLaren. Accident in Namibia. Destroyed and buried in desert.

    Any more info?

    Pictures?

Erik will chime in soon but it crashed and burnt in Nambia. The car flipped (sommersaulted actually) several times. The driver was pretty much unhurt except for some bumps from the testing equipment flying around. He climbed out where the windshield would be. Unfortunatley, by the time everyone got there the car had burnt down

I heard it hit a rock that was big enough to cause a catastrophy but small enough to not easily be seen while going 200 mph (which is close to what the driver was doing)
