Thanks for the welcome, guys. Much appreciated. Looking forward to more amicable exchanges. And with that, I'm going to leave this thread be and let it fall behind us.
My point was, I did not know non-subscribers were looked at any differently, or that an excuse was needed. (But if you want one, I went throught the whole Paypal signup a couple of months ago and could not get it to work, my fault, haven't wanted to jack with it again) I suspect the fact that I click a lot supports this site, at least to the extent advertisers care who visits how often. Maybe I'm wrong. I do value this site and have gotten good info from it. And Burriana500, you guessed correctly that I am a "non-owner" as far as Ferraris go. I would like to get one someday and have loved 355's since the first time I heard one with a Tubi. I do own a Diablo, drove it to work today.
That's why i said "nothing wrong with being a non-owner" ... I guess having a Diablo entitles you to a certain amount of slack... not too much mind you!
How nice, it turned all warm and fuzzy! Seriously, what a great thread to start the week with. Its always cool when things get worked.
I hear you. I generally get more slack than I deserve anyway. I have never really participated in the rivalry between marques. There are a bunch of ferraris I love the looks of. I have always liked many kinds of cars, some much less expensive and faster than others. I have owned various mustangs and an M5 and wish I'd never sold any of them!
I also think its pretty poor from Ferrari to charge a fee for such content . Its like they are trying to milk us in every way possible .
I wouldn't say that non-subscribers are looked at differently. Rob has kept the site open to non-subscribers despite the fact that many have suggested that he limit participation by non-subscribers, and I respect his decision. You asked why I wasn't Rossa. I paid for basic membership to show my support. As time goes on and I participate more and more, I will consider becoming Rossa. I asked what your excuse was because I disliked the insinuation in your question. I'm glad that you value the site. So do many others of us. You've been a member for a year, but only 21 posts. Don't just be a lurker. Come out and participate. Most of the time, our bark is much worse than our bite.
I had a Y&F account for one year, it wasn't good at all... The FOC site is way better, and for large pictures media.ferrari.com, but the account was suspended after a re-design of the site I linked to a couple of movies: http://www.davies.nl/ferrari/movies.shtml (btw, the site is offline due a controversial movie with an Enzo & a Murciélago on the dutch roads (293 km/h) . Started a new one, www.supercar-world.com (dutch))
If you register with F1 Team Sponsor Shell Oil, that groovy English girl will talk to you in a race weekend email...(all the office says "whaddat?" ), PLUS with the race recap they have LOADS of download wallpapers, screen savers, and all that groovy 'puter related stuff! Just a thought...... Bubba
