Yak crash

Bad few years with this stuff. Seems like a lot but maybe I'm wrong.

 

Witnesses describe aerobatics at an airshow, with some component of formation flying.
Perhaps some lessons learned here / will wait for the Feds to investigate.
Very sad.

 

A tragedy for all, but I feel the most sorry for the family of the passenger, who sounds like he was a real good kid with a big future:

Seeing that airplane going straight in from some kind of maneuver could open up a possibility of a 74 year old pilot having an incapacitating medical issue. He was rated as an excellent and experienced pilot in type.
