my hometown too
what was last time u went back?
says in the article average household income in china is $1000 a year.
Impressive. It is good to hear that they are expanding. I liked the article as it was pretty informative. As for the average annual income, that was a huge surprise to me but now that I sit down and think about it I guess it could be true.
when were u planning to go to the SHanghai GP? might be interested in going too.
i am going, if anyone u guys wanna go, let me know.
good tix is gonna be very hard to get unless u know someone, decent hotels are all booked and pre-paid.
i am pretty sure the average is 1000 or even less, but that's for nation wide i think, there are remote area where a family makes $10 USD for the whole year so it lowers average.
in shanghai, average income is higher. i think a white colar college graduates can make like $6000 USD to start, which is plenty for a normal lifestyle. although if you hang out in the happening part(where foreign in shanghai frequent), price is not much less than US. in a good western reataurant, meal for 2 can run $200 without wine. drinks, bars, all cost a pretty penny.
Just came back a two month ago...will be going back again in Sept for the GP.
Cash Baby, Cash!!! Hence reported income versus actual income is skewed...also wealthy Chinese are adamantly about being private...although owning a Ferrari is a sure give away...hmm.
Hubert, I'm going September...also trying to convince Emil to come along, too.
Emil, please email me offline and let me know how did it turnout with that issue we had discussed.
nice. i was there last xmas/new year, and last apirl.
i will be there for f1 too, maybe we really can get a group going or something.
jon u know u wanna go
when is it exactly?
race is on for 9/24-9/26 that's fri/sat/sun.
i will arrive local time morning of 9/23, and leave morning of 9/28, then go to HK for 5 days and come back to NY.
sounds like fun, but thats too long of a vacation.
u can just do the shanghai GP part. 5 days is great, u get to taste the city and see the hot spots. it is nice there.
here is a pic of the bund(their water front).
although if u fly for 20 hrs, might well squzze HK in, i can borrow relative's boat and we cruise the harbor
Waiting for Daphne to get back to me. I spoke to her last week after the event at the ring...I told her that if we did not hear back from here by mid-June we'd buy tix and expect VIP/All Access/Pit Passes. ;-)
Sounds like it is going to be a nice trip. Have fun out there.
Do we need to row the boat?
not unless the driver guy gets drunk
he drinks quite a lot on job supposely, u know the one hand on wheel one hand on bottle type of captain.
no...john...you'll be 'kickstanding' behind the boat.
