12k euros for year 4 and 5 warranty extension on an 812. Owned the car from new. What’s the consensus, worth it or not? Thanks.

My F12 is now 8 and I''ve still got the warranty on it - but I'm doing about 8,000 miles per annum

There aren’t any known issues, right?

Have you had to use the warranty yet? I am assuming it's power warranty only at this point?

My F12 is a 17' and has about 1,200 miles on it. Still go back and forth whether I should add it or not. I do plan on driving it more going forward.

The cars has 29K on the clock (I bought it in 2020 with 16k) and I've had a couple of small issues and one major one covered so far. The big one was the leaking brake light seal filling the boot lid (well documented issue on here). Fixed no problem. I have picked up a power steering leak on the last trip (4k in 2 weeks driving) and it's due to go into the dealer soon to have a look at what it is.

Not sure. Haven’t seen any major ones, hence my question I guess. Just trying to get a gauge on whether it’s worth taking the risk or not. I guess 4 years down the road and 24,000 euros in the bank could pay for a fair bit of work.

The years 4-5 extension are much more comprehensive than the NP warranty and similar to the bumper to bumper factory 1-3 year warranty.

Is the price €12k per annum or €12k for both years?

If it’s the former, you’d probably be better off self insuring as there aren’t many repairs which are going to cost more than €24k. If it’s the latter then it’s probably worth having but short of a new engine or gearbox, again, there are few failures more expensive than €12k. However, it’s the niggly things which 4-5 covers and NP doesn’t which make 4-5 worthwhile. Check if leaking seals, gaskets and dampers are covered in 4-5. I think they are but they are very definitely not covered in NP.

Thanks for that. 6k per year. Maybe I’ll go for it then.

I think you may want to check that. The two-year OEM bumper to bumper for V12 was $23k a few years ago. Its $6900/year (2022 prices) for the New Power that includes the annual. ;)

I just added the extended OEM to my 812 and I paid 21k Canadian dollars

I did check, definitely 6k per year. Warranty is exact same as factory years 1-3. I will go ahead with it.

There are many threads here with very knowledgeable people who have done analyses of this economically. No known issues and individual cars may vary in their needs. I got it when I bought new but generally want first year coverage as i get to know my cars.

The general gist is the fees are mitigation against catastrophic events. Other than that ? No one knows. We know people with it will file or try to file claims even for little things.

My f12 had the mesh paint issues and was covered but aside from that didn’t use it in years 4/5.

Not telling you go search but also there is a looong thread on the pros and cons from those in the industry if you search. Also @SAFE4NOW might give his opinion as well

    Good luck.

Seems strange. That's much less than the 2022 New Power with annual plan. Ask @SAFE4NOW.
