Year/Model?

Good question... My guess is that the answer lies in the door latch or the indicator light on the door, both very visible. Otherwise, it looks like a gorgeous color combination - dark blue over oxblood? Way hotter than the models...

 

Well, it's somewhere between 78 and 85

 

I doubt it is a carbed car - the tire's sidewall isn't that big.

 

It has the metal door seal so it can't be a QV

It looks like a 1981-1982 GTSi because of the black around the front windshield. Very similar to my green 308. Carb & QV 308's cars have the body color around the windshield.

 

If you notice this blue QV it has the body color around the windshield where mine is black. I couldn't resist this picture of Alexandra when she was about 5 years old to show the black around the windows. Get them into it when they are young!

I think the car in that pic is black, not blue.

I think the lighting is making it appear blue.

IMO it's a carbed GTS because of the metal door seal and the 14" Rims, wich no one would mount at a QV. It's black over ochsblood and because of the reflections at the picture it could look like satin black a-pillar.

So, my bet: a '79 308 GTS

Not quite sure how "three best buds" take a ride in a 308 GTS regardless of what year it is.

It looks identical to my '79 Nero with Red interior GTS except for the dweeb leaning on the door. It could be another year but it looks like mine in all respects as far as I can tell.

If I can fit two girls and myself in an Opel GT, I am sure it can be done in a 308 GTS.

 

I fit two girls and myself in a mg midget with the hardtop on back in high school and I'm not a small guy. I always say where there is a will there is a way.
