I know the 430 had known header issues in some years. I have heard the 458 2010 and 2011 has the better sounding exhaust, but maybe also a weaker transmission.
When buying a 458. Is there anything to look out for through the years of 2010-2015?

    Thank you
    Gabe

Headers tend to fail by the flexible connection as this part is very low quality and has a prone to weaken, that’s why some 458’s caught fire as fuel tanks are very close to them. Quite easy to replace with high quality after market part. You can identify cause on cold start you will listen like a zzzzzzzzz coming from there.

The fires that happened in 2010 with the 458 were due to the adhesive in the rear wheel liners that were flammable. This issue has been fixed long ago.

Transmission issues are due to sensor failures and can happen in any model year.

The throttle mapping was different in the early models and the exhaust had pops and bangs which some prefer. It can be added or deleted with an ECU tune.

I have never read or heard of the 458 having any problems with the headers like the F430 did.

Good luck on your search! Wonderful cars!

Best value 2012 plus. I have had a 2015 which ownership has been I believe about 3.5 yrs and only issues were a case of the stickies, new battery soon after purchase( Ferrari fact of life), drivers side mirror vibration & I did not like the factory align of the front fenders (quality control item). This was repaired by a friend who does body work for Ferrari. Realign took approx 2 hrs..
2012 sorted the tranni sensor problem of 2011,2010, the glue issue (fire on the 2010's) > # Warranty services. For an exotic it is a well sorted car. There was a recall on all yrs for the passenger airbags.

Not true about the transmission issues with 2010/2011 cars… all the transmissions are the same and the later model cars suffer from the same problems as the earlier models

Agreed and testament to that, my 14's box went w/ 6k on the clock. At first they were going to replace the sensor, then Ferrari re-evaluated and gave me a brank new box. $40k job, thank God for the power warranty!!!

Agree. Speed sensor on most of them. I had a 2011 car and I never ever had a single issue with that car for 3 years of ownership with extensive use.

Please read--No where did I say the Transmission is in any way or form is or was different on the 2010 - 2015 being different. The difference was faulty sensor sensor. ( 2010-2011).Nor did I bring up the fact there was no repair initially as repair consisted of a new Tranni. This is no longer the case. You are totally wrong as to all yrs post 2011 all having the same failure problem. The 458 has a great tranni which for the most part which is both strong, realiable.

Ah, you said that the 2010/2011 cars had a different sensor… they did not.

2012+ cars are considerably faster, i have tried roll racing several times with many other 2012+ cars and 2010-2011 cars as well.
Mine is 2010 with full novitec, tune, racing seats, no lift, speciale wheels and all the lightweight stuff, still can’t beat a bone stock 2012+ cars.
