Yes boys, my 348 is back on the road where it belongs. It was a LOOOONG 8 months, but it is back together and running. I would like to thank: Fatbillybob - A GI-NORMOUS thanks to my fat buddy for all his help, advice, and letting my trany undergo reconstructive surgery in his garage. We had a whole bunch of fun during the rebuild. Jack Russell Racing - Dan the man with the master plan. Another Huge thanks for supplying me with the parts needed to get the job done. Fantastic, friendly, and prompt service bro. Plugzit - It sure is good to have a buddy with a spare tranny that you can transplant parts from. That and, it was fun having the Three Stooges together during the rebuild. Thanks Bruce. FerrariFixer - Phil, thanks a bunch for all the advice during my differential rebuild. Eugenio's Ferrari service - Eugenio, thanks for all the friendly advice you have given me and the great phone conversations. QV London - Mike thanks for answering all my questions and letting me talk your ear off. Phil, thanks for handing Mike the phone. LOL Ferrari Service of Costa Mesa - Michael thanks for the technical advice. Rexrcr - Rob thanks for answering our questions during the diff rebuild. The 348 Brotherhood - Thanks guys for all the support. The car is running great, and the tranny is working just fine. I do need to re-adjust the shift linkage again, but that's no big deal. Time consuming but not hard. Since I had it off the road for so long I need to get it legal. That means getting it to pass smog. Not gonna be a problem since I just picked up a pair of stock cats, at a great price, from 348 brother Brent. Thanks Brent. Once that is all done, this car is gonna have some major miles put on it. See you guys on the road.
Congratulations Ernie! You're going to have to drive it down to a haus of pizza meet so we can check it out. Dom
Yeah, Baby! You didn't even have to pay $17,000 for your tranny rebuild! It's great to hear that you are back in the 348 on a Saturday night. Can't wait to meet the 348 West Coast Brothers this coming week. I'll be out in your neighborhood from Thursday night on...
HOpe we'll see you at the VCR next Sunday-I'll probably have a seat available if you wanna make the run after.
Thanks guys. I won't be able to make it to VCR next Sunday as I have to work in the morning that day. ND, drop me a pm with the contact info. Hey Dom, I'll see if I can swing down to the Haus. It's still on Wednesdays right?
Plus all the parts Erine broke! Actually, Ernie is an excellent mechanic but man you gotta keep your day job! How do I sum up the experience with a song..Ernie singing "I did it my way". My song to Ernie..."you can't touch that". Plugzit's cowboy ballad the title of a TV show Route 66 episode This is Going to Hurt Me More Than It Hurts You...but in reverse.
LOL! You big smartass. Get ready to laugh. The first day I had the car on the raod I ruined a BRAND NEW, one day old, battery. I was so excited to finally drive the car again that I forgot to strap the battery down. Well when I was comming to a stop the battery slid forward and the rear tire burned a hole in the corner of the battery. But on the plus side, I ordered one of those 15/lb batteries that Plugz has. I'm just waiting for it to arrive at the battery shop. Oh yeah and I bought some heavy duty straps to hold it down. Not gonna do that "twice". Hahahahaa.
