There seem to be a high number of yellow 355's out there for sale right now.

I see three shades listed on the registry.

    Giallo
    Giallo fly
    And
    Giallo Modena

What are the differences. I'm guessing one is brighter and one softer. Am I close?

Can owners post photos and weigh in? We'll see if it grows on me.

They seem to be more attention grabbing than even Rosso Corsa.

    Thanks. Robb

    Tim,

Are those both the same shade? - can you list the official name?

    Thanks. Robb

I'm pretty sure all of the colors you listed are the same. Giallo Modena was the only yellow available for the 355.

Often referred to as Fly yellow, or just Giallo.

for all who are looking for answers on Ferraris yellow paint.

We do a lot of Ferrari painting here so I have a program that gives me my mixing codes from the OEM paint codes that are associated with each car. I ran a history on Ferraris yellow family of paints. What I have found is that there are many different yellows that have been used over the years. Here are a list a colors the years the paint formulas have changed and the OEM paint codes.

    Giallo 2010 666114
    Giallo 3 Stvati 2008 159752
    Giallo Sole 2008 159374
    Giallo Modena 2004 229211
    Giallo 2009 138532
    Giallo Modena 1997-2005 4305,231259,102
    Oro Chiaro Met 1984-1997 104C
    Giallo Modena 1981-1996 20Y490, 102
    Giallo 1982 273
    Giallo Fly 1970 20Y191

these are all from my PPG mixing system but that system relys on the OEM paint codes and then interprets them so I can mix with my PPG Global paint system. I have mixed many paints and many colors and every time I paint the match is dead on, whether the original paint is Glasurit, PPG, etc.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Wade. Just as I suspected, Giallo Modena was the Yellow variation during the 355 run.

There were three paint names used that I've seen, Giallo Modena, Giallo Fly and Giallo Fer, all code 102 on the paint tag. My car is Giallo Fer but I think they're all the same, no idea why they're named differently.

Could it be that the Glasurit yellow paint used on the 95-98 cars is described/named differently than the PPG yellow paint used on the 99 cars?
