    This thread got me thinking about all the majors I have done on my 348's and 355's. Okay I only owned half of a 355 for less than a year and I wasn't allowed to drive it. LOL. Anyway, this is on 3 cars since 2002.

    I don't think I ever saw an issue with the timing belt. The alternator belt once, the alternator bearing once, the cam bearings twice, water pump twice, the A/C flange (or was it the alternator flange?) once, lifter spacers 3x and maybe something else I can't recall. This is the real reason for the major - checking over everything else while you are looking at the timing belt and hoses.

    I have heard this many times over the years, and what you say is valid.
    Always makes me think that there must be a lot of 360s out there with the same lurking problems. Because the engine does not come out for a belt change, any other wear/damage must be over looked/missed because of it.
