The block is the same. No differences.Pistons are not recessed. Everything is exactly the same as the three liters but the pistons bore and the inlet-outlet ducts (valves included). As said, crankshaft and block are the same as three liters. Compression ratio is 7:1 It's an underbored three liters 308 engine Ciao
this is an upgrade that helps a lot the gearbox perfect shifting, expecially if the car did many miles: two bushings for the shifting rod, machined measuring the real shifting rod size for a perfect fit with low play. The play comes expecially from the front side of the gearbox turret, towards the car's front. I had it done on my drysump and the second gear works perfectly, now. So I did it on the 208 turbo too (208 turbo gearbox turret shown, pictures taken yesterday). the gearbox, disassembled: needs some new bearings and some synchros too ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
Alberto, I fear, she will become as perfect as your "last-but-one dry sump". Besides that fact, I also fear, that I will have to visit Toni Auto with my "silver twin" to give him the chance to do that work exactly once more ...
I'm very proud to tell you that this car will be pictured in a new book about Ferrari cars. It will be just about the Eigthties Ferrari turbo cars: 208 turbo, 288 GTO and F40. They author was looking for a first serie 208 turbo to take pictures and found mine: he was happy because all the mechanic and engine is fully restored and excellent to take pictures. I'm a bit sad because I'm writing the same book, but I will need at leats ten years so maybe better that nothing that there will be this book made by a professional writer and photographer. ciao
yesterday I cleaned the early 208 turbo Schedoni luggage set, so it's ready for the "official" pictures with the car when it will be ready for the rollout and first photo session (if the car will work...) ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

the engine is back in the car. They are servicing the waste-gate, a very important piece for this car ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
the car is now at the final re-assembly: they are still waiting for the wastegate, that is under service. The OEM muffler has been replaced with a stainless steel Tubi muffler: I will keep the OEM at home. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
the wastegate is still missing (the service is not easy to do due to big corrosion in the seat), but it's the only piece missing, now: the car is ready Will it work? ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
the wastegate valve has been serviced: let's hope it works well. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
ok, the car is completed, finally: I did a small road test yesterday, pre delivery. There is some debug to do, but this brand new engine with overbored new pistons and Tubi muffler is quite pleasant to drive also under 3000 rpm. It's very rare to find a 208 turbo in a great shape: this one is (and maybe even better than the original) and so you can judge the car for what is was when new and not what today left of the car. I couldn't force the engine as it's all new, but I was very happy of the power output at low and mid RPM and of the lag, all critical features on this model. Those 208 turbo work very well, if you find someone who can fix them and if you want to pay the money to do everything they need. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
