.... nothing Ferrari related but what the hell I thought I'd post some good news :D (and besides, this section has been sorta dead as of late ;))

So today after physio I had a final appointment with my specialist regarding my ACL reconstruction... and guess what... he said EVERYTHING is PERFECT and as good as new! :D:D:D:D:D You have no idea how glad I am, this means the rehab went better than expected, and the procedure was a total sucess!!

He advised me to get back into shape and lose that fat tummy :p, and that I should gradually get back into my sports and increase the intensity.

I've been waiting for this day for 5 months, 24 days! Needless to say, my mother was greatly relieved. Time to celebrate!

Exams were done long ago (and I think I did good, but don't wanna jinx anything!), however UfT are being their usual prick-selves and haven't said a word about marks... I'm surprised nothing's been released yet. It's been almost a month. So no word on the marks I'm afraid.

Yeah I last spoke with Faizal last week, he's back at Windsor busying himself with his BioChem and pimping sprees. You know how it is ;)

Wow man, I know how it feels to have that area badly injured. I tore my ACL and MCL when I was younger playing soccer, and if I didn't do that, I could well be playing pro.:(

Yup, right on. I dislocated it in May 2005, but 2 weeks after that I thought I was fine and started playing again (big mistake). Then on the third week, I bent too low for a dribble and it shattered. I literally heard the ligament snap and let go of my femur. The next sound was very similar to taking a rock (my kneecap) in a bowl with some mushy liquid (my ACL, MCL and meniscus), and grinding it. It was horrifying... There was a impact bruise on the kneecap too (from the femur smashing into it). I tore the ACL fully, it was beyond repair. The MCL had a slight lateral tear, and the meniscus was slightly damaged. Overall, the splendid doc was able to restitch the menicus, the MCL healed on it's own. However, the ACL had to be remade by taking a donor ligament from near my shin (the patellar tendon for the technical types :p) and creating an autograft... throw in two Titanium screws and we're good to go!

I thank God that I was able to recover almost fully. Even more thankful that my orthopeadic surgeon turned out to be the Chief of Surgery (!!) at the hospital.

BTW, how much of your previous abilties do you have on the court now? Can you still play just as agressively? Are there any pains or sores that occur after hard play? Any noteworthy incidents? I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm really curious to see how this could potentially affect me in the future.

I made the same mistake as you and thought it was not serious and played again.

It took me 9 months to fully recover and I weared the custom brace for another 6-9 months when I played basketball. I just choose the safe side and don't want to have the reconstruction again.

And now, I don't wear anything for my knee and can play as aggressive as before. No pains. Just same as before except I will definitly do warm up exercise before I played.

BTW, my surgery was done in the hospital on Finich and hwy 400 by Dr. Reed

Happy to hear your on the road to a full recovery!

Don't want to take any chances with the knee, its a pretty cruical joint, as I'm sure you'll no doubt agree...

Good news, but now next time you get hurt, think twice about pushing it.....

And seeing as how Big Red now knows you have a weak point, it'll probably be the first thing he aims for if you keep badmouthing the track suits! ;)

Remember what Ryan (ferrariguy2) said....the tracksuit stripes actually make Rick faster!
