I have a 1995 355 spider and have 3 keys. All the keys are the same in appearance. They are all black and have a push button which lights up a small light on the key itself. I assumed this was to give you better lighting when putting the key in the lock at night. The car does have the flashing red light near the center vent, which flashes when the car is off and goes out when I start it up. I know there have been numerous posts about this but I can't find a solid answer as to whether my car has an alarm or does not have an alarm. I assume it does (per the blinking light), but there is no info on it in the manual or any other paperwork I got with the car. Thanks alot, Danny
No sweat Danny, fair question. I'm still curious myself. Either way I'm confident that if someone did try to steal it they'd never get it moving. ok wait, so you need to hit the button, confirm two 'flashes' that it worked, turn the key to pressurize the hydraulics and wait 15 seconds, pull back both paddles simultaneously to disengage the gears, THEN you can start her up... (note I'm also banking on the guy who might try to steal MY car isn't reading this thread!)
Is it really necessary to wait the 15 seconds to pressureize the hydraulics? I have been pressing the button and then starting right up. I leave mine in neutral in the garage with the brake on. Is this bad?
