Overall, my question for you is exactly how much red do you want? Red as accent, or red as predominant color? There are a lot of small pieces of leather that you could spec red: the sun visors, for example. The roof liner, though no one would see it but you.

What color carpets? Center console leather color? Doors red and black? Do the luggage belts on the rear shelf have to be black?

What color tach? Yellow to pick up calipers/shields, or red?

I prefer a mostly black steering wheel with perhaps some color accents - like the 430 steering wheels one sees with the Stradale style notch at top dead center.

The only negative about the leds is that you'll only see them at very high rpms.

I a not a big fan of carbon fiber but like it on the 599 dash. The 599 interior thread has some good examples and discussion of how detailed you can be.

Bluetooth? That's the only thing I wish I had.

Just stream of consciousness. Good luck.

Edit - I think the lipstick red will be fantastic.

I forgot to say black carpet. I'm trying to figure out how much red with all your help. I'm also not sure of all the carbon fiber packages. What do the LED's measure? Yellow tach is a yes.

leds measure revs when it is time to shift they light up, the idea is that you have to look at the dash less more on the road

I like the leds but, again, unless you rev the engine up to 6k rpm and beyond regularly, you're not going to see them often. I had to have them - to me, they're another excuse to keep the revs up!

Robert, I see you posted a reply on the "which interior is best" thread:

    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135812

410SA's car, in post 4, and my car, in posts 10 and 15, IMO use tan as an accent color. I used a lot of black. IMO the black/tan combo is not uncommon. I seriously considered using black and red, and maybe I should have. Lipstick red is a bold choice, and I'm not immediately sure how I'd use it - that is, whether I'd pair it with black. It will really, really pop out against the black. You need an interior decorator comfortable with bold color - call these guys, now:

I may be the wrong guy to give advice. The late model cars I best remember are those whose owners did the unconventional - to pick a couple off the top of my head, the all yellow car featured in a recent Ferrari publication; the bright blue car at the national meet; and other cars that stay in memory longer than the beautiful but conservative black and tan, or red and tan, cars. Jean Todt's 599, another example.

Thanks to the help of a few other members on the forum, I partly learnt how to modify the interior colour on a photo, and used one of the 599GTB interior photos (the press ones). It was a Beige / Tan style originally, but I wanted to see how a Black / Red would look with Red carpets, and this is what I got (i was pleased with the out come myself) -

Might help you to get an idea. I can do a few different styles as well if needed.

I havent seen a 599 options list, but from photos I believe there is the option of - Carbon dash board, Carbon Center console (?), Carbon Door inserts, Carbon Steering Wheel & Paddles.

As for my opinion, I believe Black exterior looks nice with Tan or Beige with hints of Black. WCH's interior combination is quite nice as well. The 599 I sat in earlier this year was in Black with a mostly Tan interior with hints of Black (unfortunately, no Carbon Fiber options), apart from the car being impressive, the interior was quite nice and 'light', as I believe an all Black interior makes being inside the car feel dark.

    Regards

Lewis you did a good job and the photos do help a lot. What I don't know is where the factory puts the seat color is you make a standard order. I think the bottom of the dash is red and that the doors have a lot of red as well. I'm not sure on the luggage rack behind the seats. They also have an option to do the A pillars and roof interior. I think that would stay black unless you ordered the change on that.

Thank you, no problem. I think the best thing to do is speak to your dealer as to whether you have to spec each bit to get it how you want or how it comes if you dont.

Best of luck spec'ing out your 599. :)

Specced out mine with grigio silverstone/cuoio, shields, dark grey carpet/dash, contrasting stitching, carbon fiber steering wheel, dark grey daytona inserts, yellow calipers, yellow tach, leather rear bench, nav, carbon ceramic brakes (not that there's a choice in regard to that "option.") Not a big fan of colored steering wheels.

But I think I have plenty of time to change it before the order actually goes in...

After a lot of looking and some helpful advise, I'm ready to go in the morning. I feel that I have it figured out. Time will tell I guess. Looking forward to July.

IMHO this is the best use of the rosso interior I've seen. The black dash, wheel, console, doors offer a nice balance to the rosso seats and carpet. I haven't seen a bad looking F-car but have never been able to get totally comfortable with black carpets in a rosso interior. This is very well done and is helpful. Thanks for posting it. Is there someone who does these paint shop interiors for others? This would eliminate some of the guess work involved in ordering an expensive car without having seen the combination of colors you are ordering. Somebody could make a couple of dollars doing this.

Thank you for your kind words, no problem at all. :)

I think its just something some people do / pick up if they need or want to, but it is useful to get an idea, although some bits are difficult to change colour and can take some time. But when you have a good photo, you can keep the same settings for different colours to get a good match.

I don't get too much spare time at the moment, so its something I cant really consider, but, I believe if your looking to spec out your car its a good idea. I believe that is how a custom colour combination interior was made for a Pagani Zonda F Roadster I saw on Saturday (turned out nicely).

    Kind Regards
    Lewis
