Imagine you are a slave (no, not the sexy kind, get your mind out of the gutter) James W.C. Pennington specifically. You are given the opportunity to escape through the Underground Railroad. In your mind you know that every manshould posses freedom, and want no more than is owed you as a human being. But, when you leave you know there is a chance your former owner might harm or kill you family. You have told your family nothing beforehand so they do not need to lie if asked, but there's still a chance.
