No problem whatsoever. I'm just staying on this side of the river! But my gf who lives on the upper east side is not very enthused about it.

    Not so bad, really.
From 90th and York down to the financial district it only took about ~25 minutes (door to door).

Leaving was a breeze. I drove from 63rd and West End to Stamford in less than 40 minutes. Coming home... I'm trying not think about it.

There was NO TRAFFIC in NYC this morning at all. I've never made it to work faster: 8 minutes door to door. Yeah baby!

All I can say is, buy a Vespa!

Normally I walk to work in two minutes. Now I have to pick up my employees by car. Yesterday it took me two hours. Today I'll stay below 96th Street. Some people need to walk down from 125th Street to 95th Street.

    hey guys,

i had an appointment to get a hair cut on hudson st, unfortunately i made it before the strike so i figured i was going to be screwed. BUT(!) it was the quickest ive ever been in and out of the city, i left my house (paramus area) at about 10:40 and got onto the W.side highway in 10 minutes.. i had to drive 30mph with everyone else driving less than 4 people to make the checkpoint after 11. traffic on the streets wasn't any worse than normal, then again i stayed away from midtown (shrug)

Today we started at 4.30AM to avoid all traffic. And we were not the only ones. The West side highway was pretty busy. All people trying to beat the barriers.

And how. You can't get cabs to the airport because it's FAR more lucrative to shuttle people between midtown and the upper East/West side at $30-$45 (zone dependent) a carload. These guys are making $100/hr with less fuel/mileage costs.
