I love how they capitalized and put into quotations "Important Historians" -- lol! :p . . . nice tongue-in-cheekiness, whether intentional or not.

There was a similar car with a similar story at McCabes Automotive in Mundelein IL over a year ago. Kind of a 275 / 330 blend.
It was undergoing extensive restorations. I have a pic of it somewhere, body off, no windows, just painted.... red.

    My 1986 328 is serial number 61515 - seems unlikely that a 1960 car
    would have had SN 50000.

By the way, this is a duplicate thread - it's running somewhere else
in F-chat, and most folks there have commented the SN is WAY out
of whack - should be 10000 or so to be a 1960.

Dude, you have to read the ad. The number "50000" isn't the serial number, it's the job number. Also, the 1960s weren't even close to five-digit serial numbers (10000) as you suggest; they were between 1,000 and 3,000. Ten thousand - or, rather, 10,001 - didn't come until spring, 1967.

But I'm very interested to hear more about 61515 - like when you bought it, how many miles, date of production, etc. :)
