This is what I was saying earlier. HW are coming with few uuhhhh, awkward color combos in their Elite range and I believe all of them have the challenge wheels. The polished aluminum car with black rims and the two tone metallic red/silver roof with chrome rims. I wish too, that the regular red one came with these wheels (well not in black)
oohhh, this is almost pointless. You are missing the point. What I was saying is that even if this particular model on your pictures is a conversion, HW are coming out with one just like it. Color, wheels, the whole shebang.
It's difficult to see because but he has used other wheels that should be an improvement over the stock ones. But since they're also black the difference is not so obvious.
There is a whole lot of point for his mod imo. Just look at the last pic that fluffy post, the shape of the original set is totally off thats why he put on the HW CS wheels which is as accurate as you can get; and i am not even talking about the silly looking rally tires yet. I don't know what HW is doing with those 599 wheels.... if they can get it so damn right for the CS, why not on the 599? I simply don't get it. Yes, I know the fitment is probably very different; but since they needed to make a new set of wheels anyway, why not stick with the CS ones and modify the mold or something?? Therefore, even though the only thing that fluffy changed is the wheels, it made a world of difference. And if you can't see that, maybe you are missing the point. How could those original crappy wheels possibly resemble the real ones in any way?? Just my .02 cents.
Actually this was discussed berofe. And you are absolutely tight. By the way the challenge wheels fit just fine, so I don't know what are HW thinking. What blows me away is that Ferrari does not care about the crap coming out of Mattel, which represents their company.
Thanks to Robbie I was able to get some wheels I liked on my F355 CH I have been working on. I need to redo the wing, add a front hook and widen the rear end a little. Oh and finish it off with a ch rear grill. The wing is still to glossy... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here is a F1 Ferrari F2005 I completely made by hand from the ground up. It isn't as nice looking as everyone elses cars but its my custom made Ferrari The quality is not that great though . Image Unavailable, Please Login
the car is made from wood (don't remember which type of wood), I am trying to make another F1 car and a F355 out of clay, heat blast it and paint it (it will look much better compared to the one above but will take a long time to complete it).
Here is my 348 Challenge. I used a Biostife decal set intended for the F355 Challenge with a few other decals i had. It may not be an authentic replica, however having only a few F355 models and doubles of the 348 it was logical to put the 348 to good use rather than having it collect dust in the cupboard. I was a little creative and did not follow the original layout too strictly either. Its amazing what a few decals can do. Modified in various places such as, frontwinglets (at the camerapositions), aerodynamic flaps on the bargeboards (which are now conected with the flaps beside the mirrors), Sideplates at the rearwinglets (where Fiat is placed), Aerodynamics on the front hubcaps, and above all.... the extended wing on the enginecover. All is in the same colour as the original car !! PS the wing on the enginecover is removable, so I can choose which car I want to see in my showcase... Image Unavailable, Please Login
