Alright, so I understand most of us view fine automobiles as fine works of art, however, I'd like to limit this thread specifically to paintings and sculptures. And that's not to say that your favorite painting can't be of a car.

Here's a few of my favorites:

    1. "The Weight of the World: Atlas in a New Age" by Damon-A H. Denys
    2. "Morning on Santiago Island" by Pavlov P.
    3. "Winter Evening" by Brian L. Larson
    4. "Self-Made Man" by Bobbie Carlyle

Hands down, without question, even before the great Dali, I hold in the highest esteem Carsten Christiansen's "Black Goddess" (seen below)...

If the Louvre called me and promised to move the Mona Lisa to some back room closet to make room for the Black Goddess, and promised to cast Carsten's name in pure, solid platinum and place it below the drawing, I would MIGHT, MAYBE consider letting them borrow it and put it on display... MAYBE... MAYBE...

No camera could ever do justice to this picture; it looks absolutely amazingly unreal in person... It is, hands down, without question, bar none, my favorite piece of art work in the history of existence.

If we absolutely cannot count drawings in this thread, then I'd have to go with pretty much anything painted by Dali... :)

Take a whirl through the many works on this website:

    http://www.caedes.net/

Happily they can be downloaded and used for your personal computer wallpaper, though not otherwise commercially (as on websites).

Jacques Louis David is my favorite painter. He was the court painter for Napoleon. A few years ago I got to see my favorite masterpieces of Revolutionary and Napoleonic France in person at the Louvre and at Versailles.

Not a David, but I really like this painting of Frederick the Great of Prussia playing the floot at his court before leading his troops against Austria the following day.
