Well, I had always loved cars since I can remember. I used to scribble car like images with crayons when I was 3. First Ferrari I remember very vividly, I think I was about 7 or 8. I lived in Austin, I was riding home from school in my dads ex-police Crown Vic, and at a redlight on Jollyville a car with the most wicked sounding exhaust I had ever heard pulled up next to us. I looked over and I just remember being speechless. Next to us was an incredible red F40. I shoved my arm out the window and gave him a thumbs-up, and my eyes feasted on the phenomenal machine next to us. The light turned green, the F40 went straight pretty even with us until we were past the intersection, then FLOORED it, a nice sized fireball shot out the back and that thing was like a rocket, less than 10 seconds later it was out of sight (around the curve that is.) I guess that fireball burned it into my memory because everytime I see an F40 on this site, that instantly comes into mind. Still the only F40 I've ever seen in person. Another time soon after that a red TR flew by us on MoPac one wednesday night on the way to the mall, once again, that Ferrari sound... I'll never forget. One of my Dads business buddies had a black Diablo. I think he owned or was president or something, of this company called Origin in Austin, they mad computer games and stuff. All I remember is my dad called him Lord British because of his accent. I dont remember how it happened exactly, but somehow I got to see it, and I'll never remember the lines of that car. To me, it was like the sex on wheels. I loved it. I remember the license plate said "PAGAN" on it, always thought that was kind of wierd. I know not a F-Car, but ignited my lifelong interest in Italian exotics all the same. Cheers, Joel
The first that I remembered was when my dad picked me up from the West Palm Beach bus station in his new yellow 308 GT4. I was visiting for the weekend from my mom's house in Homestead. I remember winding out second gear as we merged onto the north bridge to Palm Beach and I thought "Yeah, one day I'll have one of these." My favorite drive was when my dad let me give a friend a ride in his 1986 Testarossa when I was 17 during a party. Awesome cars! BT
