As far back as I can remember I wanted to fly. Those of you that fly know the feeling I get every time I look up and see a plane fly overhead. I walk onto the ramp at the airport and smell the Avgas and it smells sweet as honey. I have just a hair over 63 hours time built up. Every time I get some money together to finish the license something comes up like a new roof for the home or braces for the kid you know the deal. I would like to finish my private and to continue and get the Instrument rating. I figure I will need about $8,000. If there are any pilots out there that would be interested in helping I have a pay pal account under the email address [email protected] If you have any questions please email me. - Greg

    Sorry Greg,
I'm in the same boat you are. I'm in the process of shopping for a Maserati (seriously) and could use a few extra bucks myself.

I doubt anyone is going to help out so it's lots of OVERTIME for me.

    That's right.
I've wanted to fly for the past 44 years, since I got out of the service.
    Something ALWAYS... came up.

So , I had made up my mind to do whatever is necessary to complete it.

That (for me) meant No movies, No dinners out, No impulse purchases,
( easily equal to an hours flight/week)
Thrift shop, for wearable clothes, take Lunch to work, instead of buying the
usual Convenience store sandwich, (That's another hour of flight/week )

Can't stop smoking, as I don't smoke, but that's another moneysaver...
    a pack a day equals another hour's flight /week
stay home and study, as opposed to hanging out with friends...

There's three hours/week right off the bat!
I'm sure there are many more moneysaver items that can be substituted....
i.e. move into a smaller apartment....
sell the big gas guzzler, and get an economy model

don't buy new car every three years...
That alone will pay for pilot and Instrument rating.

The big rhetorical question, is...... How committed are you???
