I like the site. Plenty of pictures, easy to navigate. I wouldn't change anything.
Generally try to keep a site at 760 x 480 or smaller. Although, I doubt your target market will be running computers still maxing out at 800x600 resolution. As for Flash, if that's what you're referring to as flashy, really don't worry about it. I think flash can be over-used in certain applications. I prefer hybrid sites. HTML with little Flash accents. Flash needs to include things like tables before I could consider making a whole site with it. Most of the time I just use Adobe Photoshop, ImageReady, Macromedia Dreamweaver and very little Flash. I'm a computer animation student so I've taken courses on just about everything and done some sites in my free time. If worse comes to worse, just find a student who will do a decent job for cheap. Ironically, I've been researching dealer sites all night because a friend asked if I'd want to take on a dealership's site as a possibility and I stumbled upon your site earlier in my searcb and then this post.
While the site works for what it is, I can make some suggestions that you can do yourself instead of paying someone else to do. - many different fonts = very unprofessional. start by dropping comic sans serif (in your menu system). it is just bad, unless you have a lycos or geocities site. --------------------------------------------------------------------- That is a great tip. I went and cleaned all that stuff up and am using Verdana as all my fonts.I also tried to stick with just 3 sizes ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - drop the top banner. it moves in and out, slightly animated and slightly distracting. while it isn't totally out of place, it doesn't have much of a purpose on the site. and that said, if it doesn't need to be animated, don't try to make it animated. this goes for flash or even flashy sites as well. 'welcome to...', might as well skip that. Just say "Sport Auto, An Exclusive Authorized Lamborghini Dealership" (or dealer?) drop the "!" as well. No need. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gotcha it does look better this way. I used a new program for the animation and went a little overboard ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - get a sportauto.cc email account, but better yet, don't put it on the website for spammers to scrape away. Having just a pointer to your aol.com/forwarding email from .cc account to aol.com account would be fine, so long as the customer sees a bit more tie in with the site account. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I wish oh I wish I could, but the owner of the store is a hardcore AOL fan and he wants it plastered right there for the world to see. All the rest of the employees have sportauto accounts. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - drop the background in the center. looks like out of focus granit and with black text, it can be difficult to read on some screens (LCDs/notebooks) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I am working on this today ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - menu - try to keep it in the exact same spot on every screen, even moving it an inch or even a few pixels can be distracting. the user will need to relearn or at least research for the menu in each page. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I moved that around and have made some modifications as well. It now lives in the exact same place on each page ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - inventory page - looks good. but.. only one problem, when I click on an item, it takes over the page and I have no choice but to hit the back button to go back to the inventory. keep the menu, even on these pages. figure out a way to do it - and hopefully eliminating the frames while you are at it. Frames work well for this type of layout, but... not always necessary. You *could* just make the piece of inventory open up in a new window instead of taking over the current browser session. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I am researching how to do this but yet still offer the same amount and quality of images. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This is just a brief of what I see on the site. I hope you take these points constructively. And if you need suggestions/tips/or any other help, drop me a note. While I don't have time to rework things these days, I can help out on issues and any discussion you would like to have about the site. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for all the input and please check out the site. Steve
I honestly think that you have one of the best websites out there. Those websites with flashy intro graphics, sounds, etc. are more annoying than they are helpful. And it ends up taking three hours to figure out how to find a car/use the search engine. Stick to your site you have now, it's great.
Looking a lot more clean! The only thing I noticed was with the menu bar. For some reason some of the words are cut off with my browser and if I scale the window it no longer lines up with the rest of the site. I'm assuming you have it all set to center. So, I'm not too sure why this would occur.
I think ur website is good. I hate those website with all those plug ins , active X , mediflash or whatever itscalled that loads in 2000 popups windows. It needs to be pure , classy and most of all with pictures and right information. Steve harris Site is pretty good . Michael sheehan 's too.

Hey Guys...thanks for all the input yet again. I really owe you a debt of gratitude. One last question for you is what should I replace that grainy wall paper with. I am really drawing a blank here and I hope you guys can give me some ideas. I see me owing you all a real big favor! Thanks Steve
Try white for starters. Or else, if you want a granite/grainy type of background, try to reduce the blacks/dark grays to a light light light gray. Anything to be a little more subtle, where the text will be part of the focus. You want the background to work for you, so if it identifies with your company work with it.
