    ...i'm working with a group of people to establish a regional cars-and-coffee type exotic cruise-in, and we've been approached by the organisers of a failed your-oh-sunday franchise offering to let us take over with a slight shift in location...

    ...in posting some preliminary feelers, i've noticed that any mention of the franchise or links to its URLs are automatically censored by ferrarichat, which has me wondering if there might be some significant caveats of which we're unaware...i honestly don't know much specifically about your-oh-sunday, other than that it appears to be an alternative franchise to cars-and-coffee and that a local group of people have already done some initial legwork toward setting up a recurring event in our region...

    ...might somebody be able to fill me in on the event's history, any potential problems or controversies, and why it's censored by ferrarichat?..i don't want our organisers to wade hip-deep into something only to discover too late that it's creating more problems than bootstrapping our own event from scratch...



    (apologies if this isn't the appropriate subforum for such discussion - i've had difficulties figuring out where best to post it, and unfortunately the censoring issue prevents me from running effective searches of relevant historical threads)

    you have to spell the word to avoid posting issues? Euro Sunday? Not sure what you
    mean....

    ...is that all?..forbidding even regular users from using the word seems a touch draconian, unless the euro-folks have previously conducted an illicit campaign of surreptitious plugging...

    ...does anyone have any particular positive or negative experiences with euro-son-day events of which i should be aware?..

    Not faulting the enterprise itself, though a campaign of surreptitious plugging would be putting it mildly, and as such, the reason the name is filtered, no matter who posts.

    I cannot emphasize enough that I personally think it's a wonderful outlet for drivers to get their ya-ya's out.

    Unfortunately, certain individuals flagrantly ignored advice and advisories also emphasized enough ad nauseum to lay off the self-promotion - as that is reserved for Sponsors of this site.

    After being an owner for the past 7 years it is my opinion that events like this just do not work. I for one would never pay anyone to go drink coffee and "show my car off."

    The best ones that I have ever been to, in this country, and in three countries in Asia, are free lance events that just sort of started on their own. Cafe, Triangle Italians, Cars & Coffee, and all the others are just a few of us getting together and the rest heard about it and joined in.

    You can not sell that. Nor can you charge for it. It is a collection of friends.

    ...ah, i hadn't realised that euroS was an admission event - that changes its suitability a great deal, agreed...i'd seen that both it and cars-and-coffee have evolved into trademarked franchises, but presumed that was only for mutual publicity...

    ...perhaps we're best-off developing things on our own as originally planned, rather than co-opting the folded remnants offered us from this adjacent city's euroS franchise...

    I am lost what you intend to do. It sounds like you are trying to do something that makes you money. These types of events almost never do. In fact, I dont know any that do.

    Don't you get it? SPONSORSHIP has been offered several times, refused said same number of times. Folks pay here to promote, the owner of the site DOES THIS FOR A LIVING, he has kids to feed.

    Just another huckster? Don't know, don't care.

    Further mention of said same event will result in a ban. Short, medium or long depending on the mood of the mod at the moment. (Thought a little alliteration might lighten the load)
