Hate to complain but can someone (Mod, OP is possible) correct the spelling of "Cayenne" in the thread title? This would make this thread easier to find for people searching in the future!

The silver plastic coating of dials wears off and chips, the carpets pull up in the corners, the kids managed to tear the map pockets on back of seats (just by being normal kids), it takes an enormous effort to lower the back seat, the hvac controls are chinsy, the turn indicator stalks are chinsy, the fake patterned-stuff on the dash looks super cheap...basically my wife has put her Cayenne through normal use for an SUV (let alone an expensive one) for 4 years...and it looks like total crap inside. Before that we had a Volvo....and it still looked like new 4 years on.

lol you're complaining about a stripped car. Where you have plastic coating I have brushed aluminum. Where you have fake patterned-stuff I have stitched leather and alcantera, probably better quality than my 575. I seriously doubt KIA makes an interior that compares. And I keep a 110-lb German Shephard in the back seat of mine and the seats are perfectly fine. If your kids have ripped the back of the seats apart, well, that's not normal.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. I had a S and didn't have any problems with the quality of the interior.

Actually I have wood accents...the plastic covered controls are the same from the base cayenne all the way up to the turbo S......take a look at the vent controls, the "porsche" cover for HVAC, etc.....cheapest stuff on the market. Yes, you may have extra leather package and an enormous price tag that came with it....an SUV in the $60K-70K range shouldn't come with an embarrassing interior that needs to be optioned up.
My kids are normal kids, and they aren't easy on equipment to be sure...but the back seat area look like WWIII rolled through! :) And they didn't pull the carpets up I can assure you....the corners rolled up all on their own.

I have owned a number of very nice cars, including nicely appointed 911s (which have a beautifully done quality interior) and I think I can comment with some experience that a reasonably well optioned Cayenne S has a down-market interior compared to its price tag and performance potential.

I like the Cayenne S for the way it drives, and I am one of those "rare" people that also likes its looks...and I like Porsches in general...but the Cayenne S and models above need a complete interior redo.
