Hello All fellow F-chatters from the South. I am pleased to announce, that I and a friend is planning to come to the big US of A in September and cruise the south for a month - I owe a lot of people from F-chat, especially from down here in the south and alot of them in Texas, so I thought that would be a good opportunity to meet some of you I have to run now, but I will return to this thead when times presents itself. Best regards Jonas
Yup Fatten em up... and take him out to Crawford for a little explaining with the W Hey Dale (Dr Who) Get your paddle ready
Well, you should know - Jonas turned his political viewpoints a full 180 degrees about a year ago & now, Cindy Sheehan would be the one he'd give a piece of his mind.
I'm sure we can handle 'em with any problems but the question is can Jonas handle some real Texas bars. You have been warned.....
Being from the low countries where you can travle through 4 countries in one day i don't think Jonas has any idea of the SCALE of things round here (please note i am not saying it is big just because it's texas, just things on a north american scale could be a little overwhelming for a young european) Jonas don't expect to visit Atlanta in the morning and be in dallas by noon
Hehe, I know.. We were planning on going the route I have drawn in the map down below I am looking forward to it like a little child My friend and I was hoping to visit at least one American family and see how they live and you know.. how it all is - And I thought that maybe some of the people on this board that live in some of the states we are going through would be able to make that sacrifice.. we would apprecieate it VERY much.. We want some culture, not just tourism stuff Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you want CULTURE, you need to stay out of the South.... I say, I say, that's a JOKE son Image Unavailable, Please Login
No no.. that's exactly where we wonna go.. We both have a passion for all that is south in the US..My friend have previously been on a 3 month trip and he love it.. I've never been there, buit from all that I have seen and read, that's the place for me if I want adventure.. And none of you can show me any Texas bars that are worse than them we have here
As if you couldn't come at a worse, or maybe best time. Make sure you bring plenty of shorts and short-sleeve shirts as possible, and if you are fair skinned lots of suntan lotion. The one must is eat plenty of Texas BBQ.
Jonas, I'd be up for making a trip up to Big D or Houston to have a beer and BBQ when you come into our big country called Texas.
Great - I would love to meet as many of you as possible There's probably some that would rather not meet me - But I hope some of you do hehe' Well, we are going all through Texas, top till bottom
You need to take a detour a little further South and visit New Orleans. It's a city that shouldn't be missed, and it looks like you'll be pretty close anyway.
We will definately stop by New Orleans - It was a rough sketch to show which states we were going through
Jonas - Let us know if you make it to Dallas. My wife can have the frikadeller and Tuborg ready, as I am sure you will be homesick for some good Danish food by then. You just have to promise to deliver some Mega Mix. Vi ses i september.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frikadeller Perfect with a little dark bread, remoulade, and ristet løg (fried onions). Maybe a little potato salad. Wash it down with some Akvavit (fire water) and Tuborg (beer). Mmmmm, good!
That sounds very nice, but we don't know our time schedule yet - But so far we will take you up on that offer and we will remember to bring some Mega Mix Which kind is it?
Hi Jonas, definitely let us know more when your plans firm up. Summertime ain't the best time, but it is better than no time. Dale
If the timing works out where you start in South Florida we could probably accommodate you at our house for a couple days. July, August, and September are all pretty hot here. If you plan to arrive in June, the weather is a little bit more comfortable. We are starting a construction project (to give the Ferrari more space), but we have plenty of room. I am in Palm Beach Gardens about 1 hour north of Miami, and about 10 minutes from Palm Beach if you are interested. I did the drive you sketched as part of our trip to San Francisco about two and a half years ago. Florida is a pretty boring drive, at least until you get to central Florida. BT
Yeah, you missed us by about 400 miles on your map! We're the ones treading water at the bottom of the boot.
Hehe, I know where you are We are very much looking forward to this trip, and when we get this journey organized a bit, I will write here and take some of you up on your offers. We are very much interested in meeting you, instead of during the tourism stuff - We want to meet you Americans
