I guess there's only so much you can do with one of Bangle's monstrosities to make it look good I guess. With that said I actually have always liked the Z4 for some reason & this coupe version is pretty nice too. I still prefer the looks of the old M-coupe though, but at least this one keeps the same vibe going. Oh, and glad it sounds like they're keeping the I-6 in it too as I think it fits the overall appeal of the little roadster/coupe just right. Hopefully it'll be reasonably reliable...

I could care less how it looks. As long as it does what it's supposed to when I'm behind the wheel, it's all good.

Ugh - BMW should stick to making sedans.

If it ends up looking like the Z4 coupe, I might be able to stand it.
I'm disappointed to hear it's getting a straight-6 instead of the V8 from the new M3 like I was expecting it to.

The straight-six is a bad decision...

It needs to get the V8. An "M" car needs to get at least a V8.

Remember that its a tiny car and a big V8 would create a weight imbalance, they did fine with the last 315hp I6, 333hp out of the current M3 would be more than sufficient.

If so, I would have appreciated it if BMW would at least have experimented with the V8 and shown it off to the public, so we knew they tried it at least. If it didnt work, then fine...but at least give it a try. The money is definitely there.

I think a point is being missed here. First I like that it's a straight six. That fits the car better overall, considering weight and balance. But the thing is that it WILL be special. No other car should have it's motor. The new M3 is a V8. The Z4 Coupe has the new lighter 3.0 with a magnesium core (and that's a good motor) and now the new M version will have to have a high output version of that motor that no other car will probably have. It will have to beat the old MCoupes 315hp so look for at least 340hp. So about 100! more hp from the current Z4 and somewhere around that (80+hp) over the upcoming Coupe. The current Z4 is a fun car but with 100+ more hp under hood, it will be a riot.

I've driven one several times and it's a great car. It's over priced like any other sports car but it's great fun. The Z4 M is a monster.

Is BMW trying to make a car uglier than the previous M Coupe? No small feat.
