Does anyone recall when Beverly Hills Motoring carried this special attache? It featured a special red exterior finish, and the interior pockets were constructed to mimic the Ferrari Daytona seat striping.....!!! I think it had a Ferrari rectangular logo plate on the outside, too. I remember I really wanted one at the time, IIRC it was about $600.00USD to 700.00USD. I was surprised to find this current Zero model being blown out, on close out pricing, at about half the price of the regular silver (or black) anodized finish!!! So I got myself one for my birthday to replace a beat to cr@p plastic Samsonite I have used for a decade. I wasn't sure about the clear handle, but it arrived yesterday and the finish is just beautiful. "Merlot" is what they call it, check it out. I think I'll order one more, for my pistols and speed loaders...combination 3 digit lock included. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't be putting too much faith in that lock. I learned to pick them in under a minute from a guy at Halliburton.
Glad you liked it, too!! That was the deal!!! No, I set the lock on my birthday, so I can recall it in a hurry!!!!! LOL! I'm surprised no Old Timers recall that version with the Daytona interior, ask your buddy about that one!!!
I don't even have any "Ferrari stuff" in my new office, and people walk in and see it on the floor and say: "Perfect, for a guy like you!!"
I vaguely remember it from their catalogs - which I used to order from before I wised up. Why buy the car cover from them when I could get it from the same supplier that they were using? <g>
First I apologize for bringing this thread up from the depths. Longtime reader - limited poster. I recall this case quite well, to the point of looking for one across cyberspace. I was searching today & (shockingly) came across this string. Is anyone aware of where one could find this today? I haven't seen one surface for several years, but I thought I would ask. Thank you, Revengel
Oddly, I ran across the old yellowed clipping from Autoweek recently, although I did not save the date of the article: MORE THAN ZERO Zero Halliburton - known for engineering exotic containers for moon rocks and aerospace instruments, as well as sleek durable carrying case - teamed up with Ferrari to make this high performance limited edition attache. It's black leather interior mimics the distinctive leather pattern on the Ferrari Daytona seats. Available in black or Ferrari red. From Beverly Hills Motoring Accesories, 200 S. Robertson Blvd. P.O. Bx. 5506, Beverly Hills California, 90209-5506 Phone (800)421-0911 Price: $649.95 It has a picture of both color examples....
Thank you very much Big Tex! I'll drop them a line and see how far I can get. There's always a chance that they know someone who has one that has been gently used. Be well, Revengel
Let us know what you find! I've been really pleased with the one pictured above, not "Ferrari" but always draws comment. I always draw comment anyway, tho.....LOL! It looks like Special Edition had a more standard black finished handle and latches. It was also a paint finish, not the red anodizing of the current Zero offering.
Correct - it was painted & came with a small bottle of touch up paint. I remember well when I first saw one in a store out here in the Washington DC area at a place called The Complement. I'll certainly report what I find - if anything - and again I want to thank you.
Just odd, I found that old clipping......I put it in the briefcase!!! Along with the Playboy from May 1958...... It has an article on dePortago's fatal accident....
My goodness that's not an atache - it's a time capsule! By any chance did you find an original Testarossa inside?
I'm going with the 412MI or a nice 335S..... I ran across the mag in a stack in a used bookstore. Rather strange to realize he died just as I was being born! It was supposed to have been an article written BY him, about the experience of running the race.
...and this: Know ye not that they which run in the race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 1 Corinthians 9:24 KJV
I'm still on the 'case' if you will...but I did come across a colletion link here: http://www.zerohalliburton.net/daytona.html While the page is in Japanese the pictures are the best I've found on the internet so far. Take care, Revengel
That's amazing......great photos...... I guess like the cars themselves, they are "out there somewhere"...
Here is a different Halliburton: http://ml3377.ec.ofertopia.com/a/Maletin-Aluminio-Ferrari-Zero-Halliburton-Pc-Mp3-Gsm-Mac-25yy2.html
Nice find!!! Let me Google that catalog number...looks like the SE3-LCB is the standard red (merlot) 3" Zero. Can't find any info on the Schumacher Edition, except for that one ad, for a used item.
This is for the carbon fiber Ferrari guys. http://www.amazon.com/Zero-Halliburton-Carbon-Fiber-Attache/dp/B001ANIMJC/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1348272751& Jerry DRG
I have one. While unloading my Ruger P85, a bullet was inadvertenley fired into the Zero (in my living room) , it was filled with papers, went right through the Zero and the slug (full metal jacket) was laying almost non-deformed by the Zero on an undamaged hardwood floor. Put neat little holes in the Zero. Put stickers over them. Now I pack a Glock 36 (.45 cal) and hav taken several gun safety courses. Zeros are not bulletproof!
I have a Halliburton briefcase. I last carried it to a business meeting in 2000. I don't think it has left the top shelf in the closet since then. I once locked myself out of it and the Halliburton national sales manager taught me how to pick it over the 'phone.
