I bought the kit for my 348. I still haven't used it because I am getting the lower part of the car repainted first. I read on a thread here that compares almost every wax / polish made and Zaino's came out as the best overall. It is alittle pricey (about $85 for the kit), but I think it is worth it from what I have read.

It all depends on what you want. If you're going for good shine and extreme durability, Zaino is the ticket. If you just want incredible shine, and don't care about longevity, try one of the synthetics like Meguires NXT or NanoWax. They shine like the dickens, but basically evaporate within a few short weeks.

    Just my 2-cents.

Sunny -- where ya at, man?

Zaino is fabulous. Learnt the process from Sunny.
    1) wash car with Dawn to remove wax etc
2)Use Zaino Zi-apply in very thin film
    3) Immediately on top of Zaino 1 apply Z2 polish
    4) wait an hr or so and wipe off with a soft towel or diaper
5 Wipe with a microfilter towel
    Voila-easy and gorgeous
I have apllied 5 coats over 2 mo on my BLACK 430 and it is like glass.
For process after 1st time just use Z2.
In between use Zaino quick detailer.

Marty hit the nail on the head with Zaino. Its durability spans months and it looks very good, but its time consuming to apply especially your first time.

Make sure to use super thin coats of Z2 because its the dickens to remove if its applied thick.

I've found that application with a Porter Cable 7424 on speed 2 with a red polishing pad makes a thin even coat and is easier to remove by hand. The polish bonds so well that using microfiber is sometimes too gentle to remove it so thats where the towel (per Zaino instructions) comes into play! However, the coat is thin enough after applying with the Porter Cable to be able to remove it with microfiber which is more gentle to the finish.

Meguiar's NXT lasts at least a month. There is a black XJR I detailed for the owner that is driven and parked outside 3 times a week. After several no touch car washes, after 2 months, there was still wax on the surface. Although very little, I only applied 2 coats of NXT to bare clearcoat on the same day after compounding the swirls out for a full 8 hours.

Those who criticize NXT are probably not as heavily into detailing as I am or professionals are, because its a solid choice and its pathetically easy to apply and remove.

Pinnacle and P21S are the carnubas that need application after 2 weeks or 3 weeks in order to keep it looking tip top.

I use Meguiar's NXT on my own car. Nothing else. I stripped off the Zaino to use a light swirl remover for the first time in 2 years and immediately applied 2 coats of NXT. I'm going downstairs in half an hour to apply another coat.

If thats not a product recommendation or display of faith, I don't know what is! :D

Any suggestions for a durable wax for a daily driver? Ease of use is important.

How long will NXT last on a garage queen? Is it time that kills it or sun exposure?

Good question. I think it's just time -- not necessarily sun. I leave my car under a cheapo car cover, but inside the garage, and it still seems to wear off within a month. I don't know jack-**** about wax composition, but it must have something like a petroleum distillate in it -- and it simply evaporates over time.

I'm not sure if this actually works, but I find that intermittent spritzes and microfibre buff with Griots Speed Shine seems to help it stick a little longer.

    Sunny?

I use Zaino products for all aspects of car care except leather (Leatherique for that) and am very satisfied. Their tire and rubber dressing is exceptionally good; last s a long time and is not greasy. The application process is alot easier and faster than it used to be if you use their new ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator.
