ZO6 vs. F430 dyno figures.

;best car' does not only mean speed. That is just one ingredient and it has plenty. Couldn't care less if 40 other cars beat it. You are all missing the point of what it is to own special cars...... whether it be a Ferrari, an old classic, a Rolls or even a Vette. Still missing it.

 

Okay so back to the topic. Has anyone dyno'd their 430 yet? I do remember some guys dynoing their 360's and the numbers weren't quite what Ferrari said they were. In other words, they were under what was claimed. I'm curious to see if the current power numbers for the 430 are even close to what is claimed by the factory. It will be interesting to see if they are below or above. I'll bet they are below.

 

i also bet they are below, Gm however always gives more hp

 

Even if the dynos are lower, which really cant happen now (do to new SAE net ratings) it runs the numbers it should.

There is nothing stuck up here charles. Just some reality for you and you can't take it. By the way, you can't compare a vette to your 348 either even though the vette is much faster. Understand? Not comparable. You are thinking that I am defending the F430. NO WAY! Could give a crap about the F430's numbers. I am finally tryin to fix people's brains that try to compare unlike things. There is no point and it is stupid.

If this thread said, "hey, has anyone dynoed their 430?" Then that would be fine but to 'put it against' a vette is dumb.

Its just a car-albeit a great one. Most here can afford what ever they want-a F430 a F40 what ever. I think all these cars are a reasonable comparison. I have a GT3. I go to the track, I have ridden in CS's- I can afford a CS, 430, GT3 GT2 or a CGT for that matter. All these cars are a reasonable comparison. And now the Z06. They are all cars-great cars-but in the end they are cars and ARE comparable. Now maybe one needs to know how they compare to decide which way they go for a track car. A CS guy or in this case maybe a 430 guy would like to know dyno numbers so what? That offends you? Maybe someone is going to open up another business and whats to use that cash he had tied up in his 430 (cash out with profit). A Z06 might be a great short term (or long term) fix for that guy. Maybe the 430 guy wants the Z06 in his stable (when he goes out with the low lifes?)
In case you havent noticed these cars DO race against each other at LeMans and other places. I think that is the ultimate comparison.
I see all these cars on the track TOGETHER on open track days so it is a valid comparison. UNLESS you think its about class then thats pretty shallow. BTW owning a Ferrari or a Porsche or a Lambo doesnt earn you more class. Its what you do with your life.
So as Watt says stfu or give us some reasoning why this horrifies you other than we are dumb.

 

Point is that Americans have an unnatural love of all things Corvette.
Example, last model released was supposed to be a Porsche beater. Had way more power etc etc. Every independant (European) test commended the 'Vette on it's huge improvements and value proposition, but still came to the conclusion that a 911 C2 whooped it's ass in all areas except price and acceleration.

 

Large areas though....

Now a new 911 can't hold a stone to a ZO6.

That to is close....a "regular" C6 will out accelerate it, has a more balanced, easier to drive feel, handles differently, but better to some, and costs WAY less. Both great cars, as long as the 911 is RWD, not AWD IMO.

people who can afford a Ferrari will see the Zo6 as a toy. people who can afford a Zo6 will be proud it can kick Porsche & Ferrari's ass. bang for the buck the Zo6 is hard to beat but if u could have one car which car would u rather have? i love reading the comparsion but any kind of argument is stupid because both cars are great cars & they represent 2 different experiences... make it 3 for Porsche.

Still don;t get it, eh?.......Has nothing to do with personal class. Try not to personally attack a person that you do not know. My dumb comments are applied to the subject not the person. Don't be a child. Because they race each other does not make them comparable. As i have said before, I have owned all classes of cars but would never compare to one well above or below in class. Stay within class in order to compare.

Well I'm not trying to compair the 430 to anything other than the 430 anymore.

I wanna know if the numbers the factory gave are what ther 430 actually puts out in a really world dyno pull.

So how about compairing your 430 Ferrari to the numbers FERRARI said it could do? Are the factory power claims legit, padded, or sand bagged?

Most don't know, don't care, because they're not into bench racing. Not posted as a justification, just an observation.

 

Large areas to who ? You dont judge a car, by means of review, as to its speed. The Ferrari package is always going to look more appealing than a corvette. A p-car is also always going to muster memories of child-hood dreaming, owning an exotic European car. I am aware that in the states its always going to be different, but in Europe and where I currently reside.. vettes dont even come into the picture. Nobody would even dream of a comparison.
