Anyone here get stranded by this latest airline failure ? I for one am not surprised.....back when oil was relatively cheap I wondered how they'd operate with their dirt cheap fare from YYC-LHR for example....$300 +/-......
Blah, blah, blah.....everyone blames it on "Rising Fuel Prices". Thats not the problem, its poor management, poor organization and poor planning. Yes, fuel prices and rising steel costs have ruined many other business in Ontario too, but you don't see them filing for bankruptcy.
True, no one asked ZOOM airlines to be dirt cheap, it is their business model that offers very low fares. These types of prices obviously are not profitable in this market anymore.
I got bumped off my thomas cook flight from UK on friday cause the stupid asses had sold too many tickets to zoom customers in distress - even though I bought mine weeks before zoom went boom - there was a family who bought their tickets in MAY and got bumped off. Apparently thomas cook they were selling the tickets in the same morning of my flight - I turned up 45 mins before the checkin shut and were told SORREEEEE...theres a computer problem. more like a GREED problem. Had to fly to Gatwick and then get another flight to Toronto the next day. What a paaaaaaain. so zoom is affecting other greedy operators.
