Is it really worth buying all the different products to Zymol you car to perfection? it must cost £100s (and then it sits on the shelf right)? I have spoken to DB Valeting and his costs seem very reasonable considering the initial outlay I guess it boils down to how much you enjoy polishing your pride and joy? I guess i just prefer to wash and re apply the nice stuff as and when required Am i normal?
Define normal...Probably not! I spent about £150 on products and about 10 hours of elbow grease, but firstly I enjoyed the process, and secondly yes they are on the shelf, but I hardly made a dent in them, so over all the cost I think is worth it..I got caught in the storm last night..weather (and car) looked nice when I went out..never driven through weather like it on the way home, and I was not too chuffed about being in the F - however, the rain just bounced off and you could just tell the quality of the protection over anything I have used in the past.
I guess it whats make you tick. If you hate polishing then get someone to do it, for me its a case of brain in neutral and polish away. (this sounds soooo sad!!)
I think you have to try the different brands to see how you get on with them. I went straight for the Zymol Ital starter pack and I'm pleased with the result so I don't know if I'd change now. Meguairs (sp) is s'posed to be good - ask Barabus - the finish on his car is stonking.
I was given my Zymol kit from my Fchat compadres for my birthday, so cost=£00.00, used very little on a first polish (after I realised that the HD cleanse is essential prior to your first Zymol-ing). Shine is very good, and paint feels super silky (did the clay-bar thing beforehand). Can't vouch for its' rain repellancy (is that a word?), but it is very dust repellant compared to Autoglym, Mothers 3 stage, and carplan, and being that I live next door to a carpenter, I'm very grateful for that...
Dave, Having recently used DB Valeting, i can recomend them with no question at all. I like to think that i looked after my car before, but after dave was finished the results were astounding.
I think your supposed to keep the tub of polish on the shelf in the fridge, least that what it said in my instructions. Don't forget Dave uses £1400 a tub polish on your car when he does it so it OUGHT to be better than from the £100 starter pack. I have used all sorts and Zymol is the best IMO but it is the dearest too
does anybody want to zymol my car for free as i cant afford the polishe as i buy petrol and use the car so there must be some garage queen owners out there with loads of polish
Agree with Hedge - I once got caught out in the rain after having zymolled the car and was amazed how little water was actually still on the car when I eventually got home under cover. Once waxed properly it just flows off ..... you still get the odd bit of black ****e around the wheels mind , but its easy to wipe down.
