Does anyone have experience applying and removing Zymol's Ital wax using a random orbital machine?

Isn't Ital one of the weaxes they want you to use your bare hands with? I've never used the stuff, but i dont imagine it to be much harder than other waxes, maybe its just a bit clumpier because of the high concentration of carnuba in it, but thats about it.

I haven't used Zymol, but I regularly use a Porter Cable random orbital machine with Trade Secret's carnuba wax. From what I understand, Trade Secret is a high concentration carnuba, and I've been very happy with it - it is pricy though. The PC machine works great, just pay attention to what pad you are using - some are for 'cutting' and others are for polishing; I've also used it a number of times for cutting with various levels of compounds with good results.

    Good luck.

First of all, I don't use Zymol; sorry if that wasn't clear in my post. Cutting and polishing is to remove swirl marks and minor scratches (from the previous owner, I might add); it works incredibly well, then follow with mulitple applications of wax. Up until about a year ago i ONLY applied wax by hand - the old fashioned Mr Miagi way. BUt after using the PC random machine, I was convinced that this was a better way.

Many people often use a Porter Cable to apply wax, its all in preference really. When set at a low speed (about 2.5-3), and with a finishing pad, its just a quicker way to get the wax on. Some even put a microfiber bonnet on the pc and use it to buff the wax off as well, but I don't.

I have it and used it once, I did not see that big a difference from the other products I use.

I'm a Zaino to Zymol convert. I don't want to debate which is better, but I do want everyone to know how to use Zymol correctly. I met Chuck Bennett at NXSPO in 2004 so i get the proper technique first hand.

Like most waxes or polishes (Zaino) you have to wait for it to dry then buff it off. I was doing the same with Zymol and wasn't getting results that seemed any better then other products. Chuck showed me the correct way and I have been amazed ever since.

Start by warming the Zymol in your hands then smear, for lack of a better term, over a panel. It just has to be streaks of wax, you don't have to cover every little bit. Wait about 20 seconds, DO NOT LET ZYMOL DRY, than very lightly wipe a microfiber towel over the wax. Keep going over it, back and forth, and it will soon disappear and become a great deep shine. This is the complete opposite of everything I had know about taking off wax. The light wipe causes a little friction which melts the wax and spreads it out over the panel, hence why you only have to smear it around. This process leaves the wax on the car and not buffed off into the towel. I can "buff" my entire NSX with a single microfiber because the wax stays on the car and does not end up in the towel.

Like I said, I don't want to debate what is best. Just make sure whatever you use you use it correctly.

I have used Zymol Ital wax on my Modena and have had excellent results. I am a die hard zymol fan. The other post is right you smear it in your hand and apply it, then buff it twenty seconds later back and forth. Not in a circular motion. It provides a wonderful shine. I do not know regarding the other waxes since i have only used zymol for years now. I would not use a random orbitor if i was you. Is it not better to feel the curvature of the car?

Caz - nsx is right , thats the correct way to apply it.
dont use a porter cable or any other form of machine polisher as this will dry the wax out too quick.
The secret to enhancing the shine is to keep passing over it with a microfibre approximately once an hour if you have time , or just wait a few hours after your initial buff then pass over it a few times when its cured
