Sean,
No pics at this time. Give me time until the car comes to me.
It is red/tan, w/41k miles

Ed,
It is a carb car indeed. No problem with the heat as far as my PPI checked.

as for transport I went with Reliable Carriers Inc (RCI), who were recommended by the seller. They are used exclusively by GM for their prototypes and show room cars. And he had success with them in the past. Cost is same everywhere anyway...

Carbs . . .! did you get Carbs?

TUBI is not ceramic coated. Heat build up? Was the previous owner experiancing a problem...? Heat build up in a steady state engine is steady state .. . . . Ferrari's run cool usually, mine does. How does your radiator look.

(Help needed from 79, 308 guys here.)

Bigger tires will place a larger load on your 24 year old wheel bearings. (Stock width seem to work for me. .. . I drive a lot on the street, real roads.) Anyway, have your bearings re-packed or replaced. If not done already.

About alarms, My car is all ALPINE.. . shop around.

Concerning the CAT, What state do you want to registure it in...?

and, Welcome to our club!

Enjoy the gestation period. There should be birthing classes for new caretakers.

make sure you do not have a car cover over your car while it is being transported, as the cover can move and scratch the paint.

Do a search for "transportation" or "transport" and you'll see a bunch of threads on this subject under the General board.

Do a search for 308 wheels (using the AND designator) and you'll again see about 50 threads on this very subject.

Also, miles/color/price for the rest of us, if you don't mind.

That's it! I purchased my 1st ferrari this past w-e. 79 308 GTB. EXCITED!!!!!
I need to arrange transportation, so I have 2 to 3 weeks before it comes down to me.

In that mean time, I would like some recommandations:

I plan on shipping the baby in enclosed trailer.
Any advise/experience about transportation companies?

What products and guidelines do you use to detail the exterior, the interior, the engine bay, and the undercarriage?

What do you recommend as 16" replacement tires? I can find some P7 in 205/225, but does it make a difference to put something else, like even 225/245?

What type of exhaust would you recommend? I have a 14 years old ANSA at the moment, but will have to put the catalytict converter back on for the inspection (last time before exemption), and may want to put something else after, such as TUBI. Is TUBI ceramic coated? Does the heat of some of those after market exhaust can cause problem?

What alarm system do you recommend. Are there points during installation to be worry about?

Thanks to take the time to answer my 1st set of questions. I will have more general very soon...
