I remember Holman and Moody had what they called a modified road legal MkIV for sale in a Road & Track many moons ago (late 70's?) Can't recall whatever happened to it.

The tub is an unnumbered spare that was built into a replica by Brian Anglis in the late 70ies.
It wasn't spot on by any means but was close. Tom Vintages Races it and his other cars extensively.

Well, sure was one fine replica then!

Is it made out of original parts or is it entirely a replica?

Sorry I got his name wrong :-)

Tom Malloy's a nice guy but that car's a replica. There are only 6 MK-IV's existant and that's not one of them.

Mr. Glickenhaus, I saw a few GT40s (including J11) at the Newport Concours show this morning. Ill post pictures later tonight in the socal section! The guy driving J11 --I believe his name was John Malloy (sp?)-- did a great job of revving up the engine for the crowd, and boy did it sound GREAT!

i think the more important question here is, what the hell are you doing on here...? It's just about 10:30 over there- Saturday night, dude, what are you doing home...? You should be out, mingling with the lovelies... Or at least trying and failing miserably like i do... :-)

If nothing else, you should be having a beer with Al Sharpton... :-)

Erik, he's into big pimpin'.

Seriously, though, I don't know exactly what's he does. He's a stock guru, that I know for sure. But I also have heard that he use to stomp around Hollywood, he races and restores pretty rare and amazing cars, and he owns a GT40.

In other words, I aspire to be him. :-)

As a NY er when I got sick of nouvell tofu I'd go to Musso and Franks but not all babes go for that. Seafood is usually ok with them and Santa Monica has a few good ones as I remember.
The thing I'd do is pack a really nice picnic dinner, a bottle of Veauve Cliquiot and head up to Santa Barbara. Park at UCSB and walk out to the point as the sun sets. Spread a blanket. The rest you can probably figure out.

Ok then James - where should I take my girl when she gets back? I'm assuming you know the LA restaurant scene (didn't you use to romp around here years ago?).

And finally, (you can thank DES for this one) can I take her out in your P4? :-)

Guys Tom is correct. Regulations make it impossible for me to give advice except in a very non specific way. I am a believer in the US and it's econ. over the long term and am happy that the market and econ seem's to be showing some signs of life. That said IMHO we are not out of the woods yet and until we begin to create some jobs and reduce unemployment we won't be.

Mr G.,

I do have a fairly simple question. With your experience and insight, what do you feel is a "good" rate of return right now for investments.....I mean, if I have about 20,000.00 invested in a Franklen Tempelton Growth fund, and I feel that my interest rate stinks right now, but I really have nothing to compare it to...in your opinion, what would a "decent" rate of interest be right now......what's the high end, low end, and acceptable range?

Hey, if you mix your advice with Tom's suggestion, maybe Nebula could take a nice girl to a good dinner in your P4...? Just throwing that out there... :-)

Neb
IMHO the best investment a young man like you can make is taking a nice girl out to a good dinner.
Before you invest in any stock you really have to study it's past, present, and futur. Remember everytime you buy a share someone is happy to sell it to you at that price. Both of you can't be right.

Would it be prudent to put $100 bux into MCI/Worldcom?

At $0.07/share, it's cheap, and I've been reading that when they emerge from BK, they should be in a very nice pricing position.

If you answer my question and I make a lot of money as a result, I'll send you a commision check. :-)
