Jason: i have not chipped the engine. The only things i did, other than the exhaust, were to install the GT-3 seats, the factory rollbar, 5 point belts and an extinguisher; oh, yeah, bailey diverter valves, clear turn signals, paint matched bumper plugs, a small TV camera mounted on the roll bar; techart pedals, the factory interior upgrades of painted aluminum panels, techart exhaust tips. So, its mainly "stock" if you get what i mean...

jw, thanks for the offer! no problems on the ride.

wm, interesting. i'll have to find a fabspeed soundclip. exhausts that most say are too loud usually sound pretty good to me so that may be worth looking into...

Hart, are you planning on leaving the GT2 stock?

I have the Fabspeed "quiet" (i use that term advisedly) on the GT-2, and while it makes a significant difference in how quick the car comes "on boost" when i put my foot down, i find it too resonant, particularly at lower revs. The stock exhaust was more restrictive, not nearly as loud, but had this really nice hi-low harmonic at a certain point in the rev range. It, together with the "stock" cats, created a much more binary effect on acceleration, though. The problem for me is that any of the exhausts that really do impact performance seem to be loud. The Ruf is quieter, but according to recent independent tests done by Imagine Auto, and posted on the Rennlist and 6 speedonline, the Ruf created some weird stuff and actually lost power at a certain point in the band. You can download soundclips of alot of these exhausts (Fab; europipe, etc.) from the manufacturer's websites, for what its worth. But, ultimately, what is music to one is noise to another's ears. Perhaps i am just getting old...but i found the stock Tubi setup to be far too resonant as well. (Although on the F-cars, Manu and others have posted descriptions of modified set-ups that claim to achieve the best of all worlds).

Never heard the 996 Tubi. I would imagine though that it sounds similar to the Ferraris. I could be wrong though.

25% off Tubi and Fabspeed for the guy who gave me my first ride in a 360. ;-)

Thanks again Tim.

have you heard the tubi on a turbo? i've heard the fabspeed on a C2 996 and although i liked it, i didn't think it was noticeably different. all the turbos i've heard have been stock exhaust.

Tubi does make an exhaust for the 996 I believe.

Fabspeed is a very popular brand too. I think the Fabspeed is more of an aggressive sound, as opposed to the 355.

anyone heard or own an aftermarket exhaust? i'd love to get it sounding more like an fcar (eg, 355 w/ tubi, is that possible???)

soundclips would be great too... TIA!
