My damn email encryption program thingie isn't working, so i couldn't hack you guys and find out where you were and my computer navigation external GPS modem flux capacitor thing-a-ma-bob needs batteries (Bruce, where are you?!), so i couldn't find you, at all... Thanks to everyone for a phenonomal afternoon drive! It was great to put faces to names.

I'm having problems with my FTP (they are having a latency prob, upload is 12k/sec IF I can stay connected). I took 28 pictures, 4 of which were a wash and will be posted tonight.

I'll post them in a separate thread and copy a link to the thread in here too when finished.

Hi DES, wish you could join us.

We will have one or more cameras there. I will bring one, but I get a bit lazy about posting them so I hope there is a back up. Normally Byron or his friend Elenia are our official recorders but they won't be there tomorrow.

We stopped being precisely specific on chat because we were not sure who was monitoring our gatherings and why. So now we handle the final details by email.

Besides if we told you we would have to ______you! :-)

Hope the weather is ok for you tomorrow and Monday.

Well, it figures. Looks like the only place to have rain tomorrow will be Santa Barbara. It will be clear at my house and in Los Angeles. The question now is..

1.Do we have the drive and hope for clearing (they could be wrong, they usually are)?
2.Do we cancel ?
3.Do we move the drive from Santa Barbara to LA?

Thoughts?

Weather.com says clearing in the afternoon for Sunday. That works for me, but the weather in Santa Barbara is still an issue. I'll drop you a note on Saturday, after I've checked with FAA about the weather.

Jordan as Byron had mentioned Your Prize is to ride in Matts car We have to worn you though, that Matt doesn't like people to wear shoes in his car- so you have to take them off and put them in the trunk. Don't let that fact bother you, the ride Is well worth it.

hey guys, ill make sure im in T.O. on sunday morning, but any where you guys want to meet is fine with me, the cheveron station at moorpark and the 101 is good, acually its only like a block from my house, going north on the 101, after you get off the freeway at moorpark make a right then quickly get in the far left lane and make a left and go around the corner to the cheveron, youll see it, this is gona be cool, just a reminder of all the cops we saw going north on the 101 after leaving ventura last time, be cool for about 4 miles after leaving ventura, its a local speed trap

Cold Springs Tavern, food is excellent, showing up with a large group on sunday could be a problem, resturant consist of small rooms, and its always busy on sunday
Parking is terrible, especially on sunday, there isnt a parking lot, only parking is along the side of the road and on sunday its always crowded, plan on parking a long ways from the resturant

JL,

You might try the Coast Village Inn in Montecito 805-9693266, I've stayed there myself.

If we can get a number of people expected to show, I will try to make sure there will be space for us and the cars at Cold Springs Tavern.

regards,

There are a lot of names that have not been on F-chat for a while but they still might be interested.

That sounds Ron and Mike. I'll meet anyone comming form OC @ the Federal building off of Wilshire and the 405 and we will drive up and meet at moorpark- and go from there. I'm bringing my girlfriend on this one. Does anyone know of a hotel in Sata Barbara or Montecito that has good parking and is not too expensive, I might stay the night.

Well Matt said that Art needed two spaces and I told that to my wife. I also told her it would probably be an all day deal, just like Jan 1 and she decided not to go.

I can easily take 2 passengers. The right front seat can go forward and both will still be comfortable. I cannot move the drivers seat up enough to drive comfortably and still have an adult passenger.

The Moorpark exit is after Calabassas. It is just after the 23 FWY goes north to Simi (where my house is).

We have not finalized the details but could easily be flexible enough to meet up with you.

I am about 10 mins from there and it is right by Craig's home.

Mike T we could meet you there also.

Moorpark exit is about 5-6 exits past Calabasas. It's just after the 23 north junction. Close to me and easy to meet there. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Ron, I am sorry to hear that your wife is not comming. Is Art Comming I thought he needed two spaces for someone? I am almost positive that I am going to come up on the 101. Is Moorpark exit before Calabasas or not? What time are you thinking of meeting at the Moorpark Exit 9 ish?

JL, are you going to go Ventura via the 101?

If Craig is in TO that night we will meet at the 101 off Moorpark exit. You could join us there. That invitation would extend to anyone else coming up the 101.

We also have the option of going straight to Ventura from there on the 101 or we can go up the 23 to Filmore and meet up with Matt and others with him and expand the caravan.

Matt, my wife said that she would stay home, so I have room for passengers.

Mike Welcome, and Congratulations.
You will get used to searching on this site pretty quickly, but you will see that we have at least 2 events of some sort every month. The details for the Santa Barbara run will either be e-mailed to you or they will be posted on the site. You will probably meet up with the ventura guys somwhere off the 101, or I can meet you on my drive up from L A.

Hi everyone,
I picked up my 328 GTS ('86, Red/Blk, 17,000 mi.) in San Diego about a month ago. Nice to see so many of us living within a few miles of each other. I'm in Calabasas, just at the west end of the Valley (sort of). I'd like to drive to SB with you guys on Sunday. I also want to drop by Blackhorse for the opening. Great guys there; lots of help. Count me in Sunday if that's OK. Let me know where we'll meet, etc.

Gene why don't you make a contest with your children- the one that behaves the best until Sunday gets to go on a drive with you. IT leaves your wife with less work to do on Sunday with 4 kids. You then do another contest that the child that behaves the best on Sunday with your wife- will go on the next drive. BTW Don't listen to me I DON'T HAVE KIDS IT IS JUST A THOUGHT.

here's a suggestion for a place
Call them on Sunday before you go to find out
if there's enough parking for a late lunch

Cold Spring Tavern
5995 Stage Coach Road
Santa Barbara, CA 93105
(805) 967-0066

The place is like Rock Store in Topanga Canyon
It is hidden in the hills of San Marcos Pass Rd. (Rte 154)

Cost around $20 per meal

Anyone else know about this place?

WELCOME DRIVE FOR MARTIN.

Sunday Feb 16th

Martin is joining us for a brief time and while he is here we need to take his garage queen out and give her a good run.

It will also be a good opportunity to take your Ferrari out for a shake down run before the FCA Ortega Run the following Sunday

The plan is a great drive in and around the back roads of Santa Barbara and a nice lunch at McDonalds or Taco Bell

We will plan on meeting Martin in SB @ 11:00 and drive until lunch @ 12:30 or 1

Here is the Ferrarichat link so post if you can go

http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/167223/199374.html?1044368390

For Security reasons please keep specifics about the drive in e-mail form and not posted on the board.

As the day draws closer I will e-mail maps and directions

For those drivers south of SB coming from LA, OC, and the SF valley, we can meet at my house again @ 9:15

and drive in a caravan to Ventura to meet the Ventura drivers at someones house or location and then on to SB.

*special note for Art Chambers - if you like, we can find a co-pilot seat and pick you up at the Santa Monica, Van Nuys or Santa Barbara airport*

Hope to see you all there!!!

Alright Girfriend has to work on Friday the 14th so I am not going out of town. I think that I can make it for the 16th, but only if my car is ready. It should either be ready Feb 9th or the 15th. Matt I know that I can ride shotgun with you, but I have to spend time with the girlfriend and she would come along. Thank you though for your generousity. Hopefully all works out. We would come up to Matts House or meet on the 101. Either Way.

How about the LA group meets at my house again and then we drive to Ventura to pick the ventura crowd and then meet Martin in Monticento and then drive to the Airport to meet Art?

Hey guys,
Thanks Matt-It really is so nice of you to think of me.Actually the 360 has arrived this AM in Montecito and my friend is garaging it for me.We leave tomorrow AM in the E46 and plan to arrive Sun eve.
Since we have guests until Feb 11th I'm available after that date.Coming down to SB area would be fabulous but I also hope to join you on some rides up in your neck of the woods.Really excited about it!
P.S. Jason F.-hope to finally meet you on one of these rides.
Martin

I'm FOC and I have heard nothing. It's not in the newsletter as well. It must be a splinter group. Byron, I will update the e-mail list and send it out.

It would be a seperate date and event. I was thinking mid Feb before Ortega or Mid March after the cart drive.

Hey guys,

Martin will be here in a few weeks, Let's get a drive going again. He will be here from Feb to March so we need to squeeze him in. I am thinking something similar to the SB lunch drive since he is going to be there.

Thoughts?
