Eric,

Stealth is key! Definetly diggin it. When we saw you pull up, at first it didn't even occur to us that you were with us, etc. I was like 'Hmm..what the hell? Holy sh!t that's bad ass!' :-)

Dan,

Your guess is right, less. But then again that's a relative term. It was back to school day for a lot of youngsters and I drove the car to FoSF at 8am to get the seat belt recall done over the next couple of days and I've never had so many looks from those standing on the corner, waiting for Muni, buses etc giving me the thumbs up or the dropped jaw look. A bunch of SF State girls wanted me to pull over so they can look at the car or somethin' (I should have gotten this car when I was in college!) They must hear it coming, kinda like your F-Car. Other than that the car is fairly stealth....which is what I kinda like. No bling bling like Norman. j/k.

Norman,

I was using the original Nikon D1. It's still a great camera even though its a couple years old. I plan to eventually upgrade to the D2X when its available.

Your car was one of my favorite especially given the fact that it has the same color name as mine.

Tako, you'll have to come out next time. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out then.

Second the favor for Eric's TR! It's just stunning. I don't think I've seen a *car* in that good of condition ever, even new!

It's sound with the Tubi is just un-be-fricking-liveable! Quite possibly the finest sounding production engine of all time...

Best!
Ben.

Eric,

Your 512 is HOT stuff! A friend just named it TiTR :-)

Definetly one of the coolest cars around. Do you find you get more or less attention than the red counterpart? My guess is less, but generally attn from those who know?

Jason,

Very nice pics. I'm sure glad I was able to break free from the usual Sunday chores to meet up with all of you. Hope I can meet more of you the next time I make it out. Fantastic group, let's get out and do more driving as a goup next time!

Cheers,
Eric

Very nice pictures Jason! It was nice meeting some f-chaters for the first time and I look forward to attending more get together in the northwest in the near future (when is the next Seattle gathering? guys)

As for Dan, well your car is beautiful. I must thank you very much for the test drive on friday. The 550 Maranello really is what I'm looking for in a car and I will own one in the future! Mine will be either black or red.

I was impressed by the variety of cars and must say that all of them have their charm. The 308 with the old switchgear inside, the Testarossa and 512tr with the rear 12 cylinder engine, the special 348 speciale, the 360's with their sexy body and the 550 Maranello with that ultimate GT car look and sound. Just beautiful!

Mario,We missed you. We're planning on doing another one in 2 weeks. Hope you can make it. The wheels are a long story, but in a nutshell the offset of the rims and the tire size conspired to tear out my right front fender twice, and the company who made them was gracious enough to take everything back. They tried to make it right 2x previously, and wanted to try a third time, but I was getting kind of fed up about it and said no. They are certainly a gentlemanly outfit. Give you more details when I see you.

Jason,

AWESOME pictures! Yours are the first I've seen that capture the beauty of Norm's color scheme. I Also like the bagde shots a lot, esp. the titanim 512's 'Ferrari' logo + rear decklid/window. And any camera that makes my car look clean is good by me! :-)

--Dan

PS: Still going through them - the details you were able to capture are awesome. Like the shots of Don's car, the reflection of his in mine, etc. Very nice!

Okay, I'm back...made it back to Seattle in good time. Now I have to go through all the pictures that I took. Anyone have a good image hosting service that I could use other than Imagestation.com?

And yes, we saw/heard you Dan. You were flying up that hill. My mistake was not to downshift. I should have.

Jason: don't worry. It's all gone - no signs of the Atomic Chef! :-)

You guys are seriously quick...could you hear it when I hammered on it both up the 2 lane strech on 92 before the reservoir and then also once we got onto the 'civilized' part of the highway?

Hope you had a good, safe drive home. Now get some rest.

Dan: Sounds like there might be some pad deposits on your rotors. Did you try doing a hard stop. That should hopefully clear up the "stop-go" feeling.

BTW, your 550 has an awesome sound from behind! Had fun chasing you up 92! :D You can bet that I'll be posting lots of pictures soon. I JUST got home.

Yes Mike... that was me in the Boxster S. I love Hwy 17. I was trying to drive at a reasonable pace without getting too out of control. I will see you and the rest of the gang tomorrow!

Norm:

I was just following the guy in the Boxster, was that Tariq? I think he was trying to catch up with the other set of cars that got the lead on us due to us being caught at the red light leaving the meeting point. Half a mile behind? I thought I always had a glimpse of you in my rear-view mirror. I am always nervous about cops up on 17, so I let the boxster carry the way and most of the time we weren't more than 15 above the limit (at the curves!). =)

I am looking forward to my first "breakfast gathering". Only problem will be waking up, like most of the other people in the south it seems. 7 AM is a very unnatural hour for me, I am more often still awake at that time then waking up at that time!!!

This assumes Justin is going. Hah! Rich - he won't wake up! I'm telling you! :-)

--Dan

PS: Jason - no worries. I did find the 'it feels kind of sluggish from stop-go' funny. No long-term damage I don't think.
