Sorry, for the absence, but it's been a bit busy up here. Have a great time in HMB, catch you guys next time!

Dan,

Car is in for its 15K. Probably won't get it back for a couple of weeks. I made an appointment but had to delay bringing the car down, so I think I kind of lost my spot.

No too worried, totally bogged down with work, Crush is coming up fast.

Art,

I won't be able to make it to the wine tasting, enjoy. I'll give you a call.

VIncent.

Hey Dan, sorry about cooking your brakes. I really thought I had them off the whole time! Hopefully the smell goes away. But thanks for giving me the opportunity to drive your car. Now I no longer want a 360 Spyder but rather a 550/575 Maranello!

Wow! So far it looks like 16 maniacs will be at breakfast!! This may be the biggest one yet!!

Daryl, It looks like there will be at least 5 of us meeting in Serramonte. There is a 76 right next to Good Guys where we can fill up.

Is Norm's "spirited" drive on 17 the drive to the Concorso Italiano? If so, he was following me in my p-car and I can state for the record our drive was very sedate!!!! :p

DUDE! Leave the car at my place, and then come back down. I'm serious, I'm right off of 92. I'll keep it in the garage, and if you're feeling paranoid, take the keys with you. Enjoy yourself for the night, and then come down to my place as it's like 10 minutes from the coffee shop in HMB anyways.

There's no reason for you to miss out on the fun just because of the car.

Nope! Stupid as ever and still on the east. My saving grace is that I do own houses on the west bay. I just don't live there :-). Oh wait...I think that makes me the ultimate moron. Oh well, I gave it the good ol' college try. Hey at least my driver's license has my Foster City address and I still get mail there. Kind of a pricey mailbox though...

Norm: the issue is that the gas pedal is right of the brake. You seem to be confused with this 3 pedal setup. Shoudl you use this car more often (hello daily), I think you will find that the impeding force is exactly that. :-)

Guillaume - Come join us! It's a very open group, you only have to bring a Ferrari if you want featured parking ;)

See you guys in Serramonte/SF at 7:15am (pm/email if you need directions, there's a Good Guys parking lot that's a good meeting place), then later in HMB at the Moonside Bakery and Cafe at 604 Main St, HMB 94019.

The breakfast is set for 8am, usually we linger for a while.

Byron- Say it is not so! I have my heart set on the grand epic meeting of North and South :-) Can we reschegule? Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Best!

Hey Bay area folks, I met up with Dan today for lunch and he invited me to that breakfast in Half Moon bay on sunday. Since I'm in the area and I just love Ferrari's (dan will confirm that I'm a pure ferrari fanatic) I accepted the offer. I will be coming with my friend in his bmw M5 since we drove down to Seattle in his car and I'm stranded to ride with him. Anyways, I hope you guys don't mind the german car amidst the Italian beauties! I just need more info about the time you guys will meet in HMB and where do you guys meet at for the drive towards HMB...thanks and looking forward to seeing you on sunday!

Hi guys! What a great response!! We usually meet at Moonside Bakery and Cafe at 604 Main St, HMB 94019 at about 8am. John gave perfect directions. I know it's early guys, but any later and it won't be much of a drive because of slow poke drivers and other miscellaneous riff raff on the road. It's always a LOT OF FUN, though!!!

Tariq, if you want to drive down to HMB together, a group of us usually meet at the Good Guys in Serramonte at 7.15.

Anybody who needs a wake up call, email your number to Dan, and he will call you after I wake him up!! :-)

Ackkk....7.30am, 8:00am?! Do those times even exist on Sunday? I think the sun rises at about 9:00 no?

Anyways...I'll try and make it if I can figure out a way to get out of bed that early. Every other day of the week is not a problem, but after Saturday evening's Sunday morning often does not even exist.

Of course, that said, there is 1 exception to the rule - F1 Sunday's. :-) As soon as I wake up for any reason (loud nieghbor, birds etc.) I jump out of bed and go straight to the TV to watch TIVO's F1.

And Dan suggested this?! Hahaha...now that's a funny one ;)

I give 50/50 odds the co-organizer doesn't make it.

Dave,
Norm, Noel, Faisel and I usually meet up in the Colma/DC area and head down towards you on 280. If you give us the cross on Skyline, we can caravan over to 92 into HMB.
Rosso,
We usually meet up pretty early as many of us have kids schedules to work around. We usually meet up around 7:30 and are in HMB by around 8:30. This gives us choice parking in front as well as light traffic.
As always, all are welcome to join us for a scenic drive and informative automotive banter during breakfast. The more the better!

Dan...
I was in the hiring process a few years back. And (hang on for this one) my sisters, husbands, co-workers roomate is a CHP officer in Redwood City. He was the one that helped me out.

Funny thing. The day I went was Good Friday. So, it was a dead day. Jason, the CHP officer I was riding with was workign 280, with one other guy. So, from 380 all the way to 85, there were exctaly 2 CHP cars covering all of 280, 92 and all the other back roads. So, to say the least, we were busy all day.

Stephen, I drove a friends 427 Cobra (a real one} at Thunderhill several months ago. It was kinda fun, but not something I would want to do very often. Point and shoot, not much finesse required, 'course I wasn't pushing very hard as it was a very expensive piece.

Rich: those scenic viewpoints are killer. I take 92 to get home, so if you're on 280N between edgewood and 92, watch out. They hide out on those downward slops, where you can't see them until they're right up on you (or you turn your head 150 degrees to look).

Especially tricky @ night. Definetly seen them up there before on occasion.

--Dan

Rich: How did you get a ride-a-long? I wanted to do one, but I was told I'd have to be a CHP trainee or osmething.

Kuzi: thanks. Unfortunately my travel plans got all screwed up and I had to stay abroad longer. I'll make it up there in short order, I promise!

I'm again fresh out of nice cars so I might show with the Corvette again. I might have to go to the shop to take pictures of the wreck.

Wouldn't mind meeting up though.

Stephen,

What 65 are you looking at? I was looking into some kits for a while but am undecided. They are brutal. Have you driven one?

Cheers

BTW-
I have been on a CHP ride-a-long on the autobahn(280) and they gave me a tour of all the "hiding" spaces. Just watch out near ANY of the rest stops...even that closed one heading north before 92. We picked off ..he picked off 5 cars there....Just a heads up.

Have we set up a time/meeting spot???

Rich, you are always welcome!

Steve: you are an unstoppable rebel force! :-)

Ben/Noel: Thanks for the warning. I concur, I'm up in this area and there does seem to be quite a bit of CHP on the prowl. The early AM shouldn't be too bad, though.

Agree w/Noel - alot more patrols on the 2-8-o-bahn in the last week, than in prior months.

Count me in as well.

BTW, be careful on 280(San Mateo area). A couple of people I know got tagged by CHP last week. An SL55 for speeding (85mph and he has a CHP 11-99 plates - useless $1800 donation) and a 996 was stopped with having white blinkers.

I think they are knit-picking to make extra revenue. So be careful!
