Start at Serramonte gas station 8:30am is OK with me as we then head to Sausalito. Can someone tell me the address to the Serramonte gas station? I've never been there. I'll be coming up Hwy 280N

I vote for Ritz since I have limited time allowed by my other half.

But, if you guys decide to stay up in the north bay, please post a decision so I know not to show up tomorrow morning by the reservoir

If you guys do that stop by hog's Island, it's up north on 1 from sausalito. I'm working in the morning but should be there around 1 or so.

Meet at the Serramonte gas station, then, at 8.30am?

Hey gang, why don't we start the day by seeing this collection, have lunch in Sausalito, then head out for a drive after.

Yes, it's a great collection. That 550 spyder has a lot of stories behind it. He also has a green XJ220.

Mr. Mallya owns a string of breweries in India, and microbreweries in America.

His collection is well worth seeing. I have seen it a couple of times, but would love to see it again.

If you guys have time you might want to head north to Sausalito to view a private collection that is rarely open. Time Saturday from 9:30 to 1:00. The Mallya Collection includes about 30+ sports and racing cars including F-1, vintage Indy racer, Jag D-Type, Ferrari 275 GTB, Cobra, Corvette and the 1923 Land Speed Record holder, the original Sunbeam "Tiger".

The last Porsche 550 Spyder (chassis 090) produced is completely original and in unrestored condition. Still has the convertible top required by Le Mans regulations in 1955. Love the CA black plate. :-)

The Alfa will be on view this Saturday. This is the last remaining Alfa 8C-35 Grand Prix team car driven by Nuvolari. 8 cylinders, supercharged, 500 bhp with fuel.

You need an Apprentice to follow you around to help start the car. :-)

A view of some of the cars on display.

Hope to see you Saturday.

Mallya Collection is located off Bridgeway in Sausalito. Take Liberty Ship Way at light and stay right. Building is on right. Address: 28 Liberty Ship Way.

It's not the waking up part that's hard - it's the rolling out of bed. Hey, I made it last time! :-)

I'd say chances are pretty good. Although if there's a betting pool - I might be inclined to go one way or another depending on who's betting what. ;)

Dan, Thanks for the invite from the other thread. Looks as if the meeting spot is 92W and Canada road. I live in Danville so it is a little bit of a trek for me. I was in NY last week and I am leaving for Europe on the 11th for 14 days. Yeah!

I have only driven my car about 800 miles in the last 7 months, ouch, so I am itching to go.

I give it a least a 50/50 chance that I will see you guys. Keep your eyes peeled for the 1998 red/tan spider or just listen for the sound of my Tubi!

Faisal, you're not talking about the road that leads up to the golf-course, are you? You're talking abotu the rather large 'shoulder' if I am correct?

I think an easier place to meet might be 92W & Canada Road. If you are taking 92W, you will go just past 280, and the first left you can make (it's a stop-light) is for Canada Road. Right by the reservoir, but east of it.

How about meeting up at the bottom of 92 (by the reservoir, before the hill up to Skyline)?

At 8.15am? Implying that we get to our destination around 8.30-8.45am.

I agree with Faisal. More people will be able to join up if it is a short run to breakfast. Those that want to break away after that can do so, and those that want to continue on can do so.

Personally, I like the idea of a drive along Rte. 1 to Half Moon Bay for the brunch at the Ritz Carlton or whichever restaurant the group chooses. This position allows for those that want to drive on to Laguna Seca.

I hope to join up with you guys this time.

Ben, Laguna Seca ends up being a day-long affair. Not everyone wants to do that. Let's stick to breakfast plus drive. Everyone meet up, do a short run, and have breakfast and hang out for a bit. Then we can go our different ways--I know some people already have other commitments and can only come for the breakfast.

Those who want to go driving for a short while afterwards can go south and then turn inland. And those going to Laguna (I suspect, no more than three or so) can carry on south all the way, after breakfast. No?

My vote is 2. I think we might have issues with people down here, as these days there will be far more cyclists, bikers, etc. on the more popular routes. Then again, 1 is tough to beat. Ok, ok, option 3.

If we're not getting that great of a response, push it back even further? I just dropped my car off for the major, and I'm told she'll be done 10/3. Worst case scenario, I climb onto Norm's hood.

10/4 is best for me. 10/5 will work also. So far we have 4 possibilities: 1. Ritz Carlton brunch possibly followed by twisties to Alice's. 2. Napa. Oakville grade to Sonoma. (Where is Oakville grade?) 3. Meet HMB and drive south to Fogarty Winery. 4. See Todd's palace in Madera. Let's take a vote and/or add ideas.

There's a fun drive in Napa: Oakville grade then down into Sonoma on Trinity Rd.

?

Not sure if I am in town that weekend. I have been traveling a lot and it will pick up now that flying is cheap for the fall months.

Hey, I am here, or back. Also got my car back from the 15k service. :-)

Saturday is going to be tough for me, because of work.

I am here. In. Any day is fine with me. I suggest we meet at Serramonte, drive down to Rte. 1. and go along Rte. 1 to Half Moon Bay for the brunch at the Ritz Carlton.

Afterwards, those who want to drive can go a little further south and take the twisties up to Alice's Restaurant and down to Woodside on the other side. It's a GREAT ride!

Ok, so we've had a couple of flops over the past few weeks. But that's not to say this isn't happening.

Steve: any updates on the winery route / run? Otherwise my vote is for north of the bridge, as we're running out of good quiet roads down here.

I say october 4th instead of the 5th because a) sundays seem to be bad for people, b) sunday drivers all drive on sunday (who would've thunk it?), c) saturday morning means no hungover idiots d) uh, I forget.

Whatever the case is, I'm saying the date. Someone suggest the venue.
