Des.
Yeah, thats right - driver of the Diablo was killed along with the guy in the Volvo - both of these driver had their wife with'em, they where rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the 'Vette, (dont think I can mention his name here) was charged with manslaughter.....of some sort.
(sorry,if I missspell some words) :-)
Thanx.

Paul, that accident happened here on Long Island (NY) last year... The cars were racing on a main road and one of them dipped into on-coming traffic and went head on into a Volvo... i think it was the Diablo...

Two car was dragracing through the Ocean Side (CA?)
A Corvette and a Lambo, ended up in a fatal crash.
The Corvette had "LUV2XLR8" on the license plate.

Trust me Countach is not a name for a bull. It comes from Torinese dialect translated it means WoW oh my GOD. It is said that Bertone (man behind the design firm) said it in front of Ferrucio when Gandini (employed then by Bertone) unveiled it for the first time.

Dan, I'm quite sure the Countach is another Spanish bull type. Which is why the name is pronounced in Spanish and not in French or English as many people do.

I don't think so DES but I could be wrong. But not all lamborghinis are named after Bulls or brand of bulls. Some like the Espada were named after bull fighting stuff (espada is a bullfighters sword) and others have nothing to do with bull fighting like the Countach (countach losely means (WOW, OH MY GOD!) a befiting name.

Both Murcielago and Diablo were famous bulls.

Murcielago got stabbed over 20 times or some ridiculous thing like that. The thing wouldn't die, so out of respect for the beast it was granted its freedom. Diablo was also a pimp daddy bull that kicked much ass.

Diablo in Spanish means Devil.
Murcielago means bat, as pointed out by Dan. Its also the only Spanish word that has all the vowels in a single word.

Cheers

Yes it was named after a bull that showed it was tough in the bull fighting arena (or what ever its called) So tough that the madador didn't kill the bull. So basicly the bull was named after a bat and the lamborghini was named after the bull.

Dan, thanks for clarifying that, i was under the same impression Andreas is, with regard to Lamborghinis being named after different bulls... That was actually a topic of discussion some time ago; i don't remember if it was here or on LamborghiniChat...

Hmm, I always thought that all Lambos were named after different brands of bulls. So I would have thought a Murciealogo is just another type of bull, but not a bat???

I am an old 1960's-70's burnout, and new to computers...my 12 year old daughter made me "drag myself into the 21st.century,and get a computer". So,I still gotta figure out how to scan a picture from my printer/scanner,to this forum. But,in the meantime, just wanted to add my license plate to the thread. Mine is: "N LUVN IT". That "stands" for 2 things. First.I am just expressing to everyone behind me that "I am loving it"...driving my Ferrari! Second. I have always done "imitations" some good, some not so good.(depends on how much my "audience" has had to drink!) But,one of my better ones is "Maxwell Smart",from the 1960's TV show,"Get Smart",saying; "And...Lovin' it!" everytime that the "Chief" would tell him that he would be in danger,or something. By the way...does anyone know what kind of red sportscar that is in the new McDonalds commercials, touting their new slogan, "I'm lovin' it"? It's at the end of one of their commercials, and first,it looks like a guy is driving it. Then, the camera pans out and shows that it's being towed. I have had MY plate for almost 4 years, now. I just happen to live about a mile from McDonalds World HQ. And had my Red Ferrari, with my license plate,"N LUVN IT",at a couple car shows on property that borders McDonalds property, the past year. Mmmmm....a few too many similarities here...

mikeg - nice, Handy if late. Man, that plate style plays so nicely into it. Very cool.

DES/Dan - you are correct. 3 TWO 8 = 328 = the car type - it is funny to me sice the 328GTS script from the factory is right next to the licence plate yet I see people stare at the plate for a LONG time (90 seconds is like a speed record... try more like 5 minutes before they give up and ask) trying to get it.
