Tony, but imagine everybody would post his local ride-outs in the genereal-discussion-section???? Have a look to California, Texas, New York...a.s.o. Its a local section ride-out! Sometimes I drop a post with just a link to european section in the GDF to let the gents know whats going on in europa - but I don`t post the whole thread with 180 replys in the GDF. I will got lost by so many posts in the GDF. Just my thoughts again Wolfgang FORZA FERRARI |

guys, it's good to know there's a dedicated europe site. it'll make organising track days/ride outs easier. the last uk ride out thread attracted 180 posts and i'm sure most of our u.s friends were reading them with bemusement! tony |

Yes, here's the event list of the Europe section : http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/174013/266973.html?1065947046 The only problem we have for now is that it only gets to the top of the site when a new event is created. Maybe when the new software has arrived we can lock the event directory to the top. Bart |

i don't believe that joe's point was to separate from the european section. it is more the issue of organizing gatherings etc. and that's what we now have the "Events" folder for (see http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/174013/262055.html for the idea behind it). trevi |

Maybe it's a thought of getting the ferrarichat.co.uk and then just redirect it to the european section, so there's no need to create a complete different board and still have the advantage of a organising trackdays via a great board. This way Rob could attract more Brits with their own .co.uk site. And Joe, I bet Rob doesn't mind you giving some idea's and feedback. It never hurts to help Bart |

Dear U.K. gents, one more time Trevi hit the target: one of the most important advantages of ferrarichat is the comprehensiveness of its member base, this would be lost by splitting it up too much. .thanks Trevi and it worth more than just 2 Rappen;-) Please have a look to our friends from Spain : http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/174013/196372.html?1066256323 The gents are realy serious posting in their own thread and own language `cause some of them are not used in english. But they have never asked for a Spain section. They are europeans and feels like them. Maybe its something difference with The Island? Nothing wrong to me. If there is a need for it = go for it! Likewise there are many, many Germans or german speaking users here. We have never asked for a german-language thread and this european section has been started by our dear old friend Jens (R.I.P) from Germany. We conform us to the world wide english language.sometimes like me with just a poor school english. But everybody can take part and share his experiences and opinions. Once again its THE community! No problem Joe! I just think that a separate UK section would fragmentate this board more. But if there is a need for it then there is absolutely no problem.

joe rob has already installed an "event" folder in the european section, which could be used much more than it is actually. due to europe's geography i believe that gatherings are of interest to more than only one country even if the brits are driving on the wrong side of the road ;-). one of the most important advantages of ferrarichat is the comprehensiveness of its member base, this would be lost by splitting it up too much. i know you brits are a bit reluctant towards the EU, heck, but i'm saying that as a Swiss ;-) just my 2 rappen trevi |

" Please gents from the U.K. let us know and maybe we can work on it or we can try to find a solution Wolfgang FORZA FERRARI |

Just some perspective. First, I think the URL would be www.ferrarichat.co.uk (unless Rob can convince the owner of the uk.com domain to gracefully give him the "ferrarichat" subdomain) . One of the IT online rag mags is called "The Register." www.theregister.co.uk. It's British (yay, England!). I like Brit perspective on IT, etc. However, last year they tried to have "www.theregister.com" which was the US version. They tried for a while, but eventually went back to the single co.uk version. My feeling is that managing both content--US and UK driven--was not only difficult, but kind of silly and pointless. We 'mericans are after all just you british guys' children, right? Throw an Italian or two for good measure, and voila . My two cents. Don't want to see a division of the site. Heaven forbid Jeff and Mark from Ferrari UK stop reading the Americans' Technical Q&A and solving the problems with their parts . Just my $0.02, which is approximately 0.0133 pounds sterling.

Andrew, but then the Paris section would always be calling on the UK, Europe, and Texas sections to come in and protect it from jerks. |

Don't get me wrong! I do not disagree but I think that it is a little bit of overkill. What is wrong with the (relatively small) European section? Or is there a deeper political way of thinking behind it all?

I think there's enough for a FerrariChat.com UK, but since we're about ready for the new software we'll just wait until then. |

Hi Rob Why carnt us Brits have our own area within the opening page? Im trying to gather some events and meeting for all the UK Owners, This would be an ideal way to bring a lot of owners together. Sorry rob its only a Question?? Joe |
